What makes this so ridiculous is that AOC's platform was built around economics and affordability issues in 2018! She shifted to "woke 1.0" because it was the trendy thing to do at the time. I guess she wants us to forget that now since most of the country has turned on the self-important woke garbage. I guess that's what happens when people can't pay their bills and there's yet another war going on. AOC vowed to "bring the ruckus" when it came to holding the establishment accountable, and she's since refused to hold a floor vote on Medicare for all, approved several war funding bills, and even called Nancy Pelosi "Mama Bear." If that's her idea of "bringing the ruckus," I'm not impressed at all. Obviously, the platform should have been built around economics and affordability issues from the start but calling it "the new woke" doesn't work either. That term is just too toxic. However, I've been hearing another pejorative. These days, I'm more likely to hear "far left" or "radical left," usually by some old neoliberal relic like James Carvile. I guess they fear that they're going to take over the Democratic Party, and this is their death rattle since they're on their way out. However, I think you're right that the Dem party is in serious trouble after going all in on wokeism the past ten years or so. Not to mention the fact that there's not a lot of daylight between neoliberalism and neoconservatism.
