Jessica could have broken out and pressed a pillow to Miss Ellie's face while she was sleeping, putting her into a coma similar to Angela on Falcon Crest. With Miss Ellie in a coma, there could have been a battle for Southfork similar to the battle for Ewing Oil after Jock's death. Would Clayton own Southfork or would it already belong to Bobby? Or would JR want to take it over to extract oil? Miss Ellie in a coma would have had some advantages, plot-wise.
