We still lost the beautiful plot lines for Ray and Donna and for Sue Ellen. Most of the actors weren’t really going to share their true opinion until much later. At the time, I loved Patrick Duffy and really wanted him back. In retrospect, I think what they did to the others was extremely unfair. I love Larry/JR but he really had too much power. He wanted his way regardless of how it affected others. The behind the scenes really was a good old boy network. This shows especially as it becomes all about JR and Bobby in the end. Victoria Principal gave a 2 year notice of her intention to leave. I don’t think it mattered to her one way or the other. She was probably thrilled to have Patrick back her last year on the show.
