Imagine the drama of them marrying, Pam pines for him but can not have him. Charlie is revealed to be a Ewing.  It worked great for KL with Gary and Val who were established from the get-go- not married, but we still care for and will do anything for the other. Jenna would have been jealous of Pam and Bobby still friends. Mark was jealous too, could have brought him back for good... would have worked better than repeating it that led to nothing. ALL of that plus Cliff owning 2/3rds of Ewing Oil.</blockquote>
