We didn't get to know most of the cartel -- and, if anything, we got to know Marilee better than the others. I liked her as a brittle man-hungry beast. I do wish, as DALLAS lost its identity in its closing seasons, that it had not also lost the cartel (who just began disappearing). If they had to go, have them be the axe-murder victims of Lady Jessica (instead of Clayton's business acquaintances whom we didn't know) in Season 13 (dvd). I'm one who disagrees with this. No, Miss Michaels didn't look like she was Victoria, but she certainly could pass as a sister -- which is all that was required. Plus, Michaels was well-coached in Pam's general mannerisms. So it mostly worked -- except for the fact that, by that time in the series, the Lakin-era writers didn't really know what to do with anything.
