[QUOTE="darkshadows38, post: 359191, member: 19"] well said sometimes i think the writers get burnt out while making really any tv show. for example Rod Serling by the time he Finished with the Twilight Zone (1959-1964) was ready to leave cause he was burnt out and he was Creatively burnt out as well that's why the show ended he had nothing left to give to another season. or anther Example Dark Shadows (1966-1971) ended really for 2 reasons i think 1. they had run out of ideas and 2 the film house of dark shadows (1970) because the parents who took their kids to the show believed the show was exactly like the film even though it wasn't it hurt the ratings. as for a tv show like Dallas to take a guess i think where it also went wrong is the writers ran out of ideas at some point partly was they had done so much for the show and than they no doubt would hire really awful writers no doubt. Doctor who in the late 80's ended because of John Nathan Turner didn't from what i understand know good writing when he saw it he hired the people he met and liked i think. i could be wrong on that though & the lower budget also hurt the show in the end as well. there were some gems in the late 80's but there were plenty of stinkers too. much like Soaps where there are seasons where we can agree they are Gems than greed from it's stars mainly Hagman got in the way & it also didn't help when he got a bigger part in the show behind the scenes i mean. and hiring actors that needed more experience. Beverly Hills (1990-2000) was still pretty good i think at the end it had seasons that were better than others but for me there weren't really any seasons that were painfully bad. my point is i think it was a lot of different reasons why Dallas wasn't as good at the end. i still watch Grey's and i have since Summer of (2005) when season 1 was Hiatus & for me season i think 11 when Patrick Dempsy left the show and season 17 i think? when Meredith was in the coma are the worst seasons. but i do think the show generally is still good like Dallas both shows have had really damn good storylines and both have storylines where you wonder what they were smoking, who there dealer is because it wasn't the good stuff it was the stuff you find at the bottom of a trash can. i can say that about a lot of tv shows not just soaps but shows really in any Genre that i love.
