It's been a long time since I've viewed this scene as my DVD collection of Dallas finishes with Swan Song but I have to admit watching this makes me cringe. I feel embarrassed for Barbara Bel Geddes having to share screen time with Cathy Podewell. Yes I get some on this forum will come to the defence of Cathy and I'm all for it but good grief this was bad compared to what we were use to. This scene illustrates the difference between early Dallas and the later years. Early Dallas was driven by its high stakes drama. Later Dallas became a parody of itself. How could the writers and producers not see the damage they were doing? Someone at CBS should have pulled the plug after the death of Pam.
