Her original run in the 90’s was soap gold and after a string of misdeeds, she escaped the Dales by helicopter, leaving a legacy of being remembered as one of the greatest soap bitches to grace British TV.She returned to the show in 2018, after an absence of nearly twenty years, and the whole thing felt really contrived. She had a few tenuous connections to characters that were still on the show but the effort to crowbar her into conflict with the current cast, and some really bad attempts at catty dialogue, made it look like a karaoke version of the original Kim. She’s still on the show today, so I wouldn’t describe it as a disastrous comeback, but it fits the bill of what you’re describing as remake-ish.</blockquote>
