Jana Novotna, who was probably better known for losing in the Wimbledon tennis women's singles final in 1993 than she was for winning in 1998, has died age 49.
In 1993 she lead 4-1 in the final set before losing the match to Steffi Graf and when the Duchess of Kent presented her with the losers trophy she burst into tears. It took her 5 more years of trying before she beat Natalie Tauziat in the final to win the championship.
