JR's encounter with Adam should have taken place in his office at Ewing Oil, and Cliff should have stormed into the office when JR was about to shoot himself. Cliff, who once wanted to kill himself, would have been able to stop JR from committing suicide, and the two would have had a kumbaya moment in which they decided to run Ewing Oil together, just as their fathers once could have. So Dallas would have had a happy ending, but would that really be better than the ending we know?</p></blockquote><p></p>
