I remember Mama - Barbara Bel Geddes at 101

I just wanted to post that Tuesday October 31st would have been Barbara Bel Geddes's 101st Birthday if she were alive today .................

What can I say about her that I haven't said before.

She was special - she touched my life and made a lasting impression on me, I will never forget her. I wish that I had met her - as its quite easy to meet Dallas cast members - but she was always elusive, reclusive and kept a very low profile in the land of Showbiz. I will always regret that I came close in 1983 but not close enough on the Dallas set and was 2 weeks too early as she was ill.

She gave Dallas a heart and a soul, it wasn't the same without her and she has been my favourite actress since I was a schoolgirl! I loved her to bits and thanks to the wonderful casting of the original show, I feel blessed and lucky to have seen her on screen alongside all the other wonderful cast members. Original Dallas was really special

Thankfully she has left a wonderful legacy behind both on TV and film. I would have loved to see her post Dallas on stage in her hometown of New York. Was cool to meet her grandaughter there and BBGs scrapbooks are something I will treasure

I remember Mama!

Barbara portrayed Miss Ellie with an effortless ease. I loved how honest she was when she said she accepted the role because she needed the money.

Miss Ellie was a formidable character and Barbara gave her own down to earth spin to the role.

Amazing woman. I was even more touched by her death as she passed on my birthday.

Here's to keeping Miss Ellie and Barbara well and truly alive on this forum.

My two favorite leading ladies always.
