Simply because he thinks of her as his wife regardless of marriage and she sees him as her husband.  Although JR wants to remarry Sue Ellen assures him that there is no need at that time because of how she they both feel about each other. I like the idea of her maintaining her own home. JR could live at Southfork and come and stay with her whenever he wants, although as yet she won't let him completely move in. I envisage lots of delicious things happening in her house, sexy time as well as just cuddles and shoulder massages on the couch after a long day.  They are each others partner in life and confidante excluding all other. JR is in complete awe of her and she has found an arrangement which means he is always coming back for more.
