2019 Sep 27 RO Otowayama (former Masurao) retires because of poor health at the age of 58. 2019 Sep 26 KS Being of poor health, Onomatsu (former Masurao) switches his kabu and ownership of the heya with affiliated oyakata Otowayama (former Daido), who continues the heya. 2019 Sep 20 KA Homarefuji retires and becomes Tateyama-oyakata. 2019 Sep 16 PA Izutsu (former Sakahoko) passes away at the age of 58. The heya remainders (3 rikishi, 1 urakata) would have willingly been taken over by his brother Shikoroyama (former Terao) but at the explicit wish of the deceased one the heya should stay within ichimon boundaries and is thus merged into Michinoku's (former Kirishima) heya that has also been the parent heya of Izutsu.
