Yes I really, really enjoyed it -- much more than Season 12 (and that still had some good stuff in it). Oh yes, I never thought of it like that! Yes, I thought moving Paige out of the Sumner Group and pitting her against Greg worked really well. I also liked how Paige and Gary didn't instantly become 'best friends' who trade confidences. They worked together while remaining very different people. The 'retooling' wasn't as obvious as I was expecting. I think 'Baths and Showers' is the first Ann Marcus episode and it's really good, but it doesn't feel like a huge shift from what's come before. Some of the fizz goes out of the show while Paige is in the hospital, but the Mary Robeson stuff is quite exciting and the action picks up again in time for the season finale. I think they have three scenes together and they're all fascinating. There's a hint of Hannibal Lecter/Clarice Starling about them. The scene where Greg allows Paige to watch him watching Laura's farewell video is very touching. I loved it! It's funny, I feel the exact opposite. Olivia's drug story is the only thing I don't like about Season 8! Their last scene together is great. He's started to obsess about getting revenge on Greg by then, so they've both lost their minds in different ways. So they decide to have Mad People sex. I like it when he moves into the one-room apartment with the eccentric landlady the way all obsessed characters on KNOTS seem to -- Jill Bennett, Wayne the Security Guard, etc. -- and starts putting pictures of Greg on the wall. It's only after the shooting that I find him a bit generic.
