Her name was Dina, and—incidentally, this is a bit off-topic—she’s the Falcon Crest character I tend to forget the most, even though she was on the show longer than Lorraine or Apollonia. During my last rewatch, I realized I had completely forgotten how she left the show. It was essentially Falcon Crest’s version of Mickey Trotter’s death, though it didn't come across with quite the same emotional depth. Does anyone know if it’s true that Robin Greer was written out simply because her relationship with Lorenzo Lamas fell apart, making it difficult for the exes (or maybe just for him?) to play an on-screen couple? Getting to know the Lance of the later seasons before the Lance of the early seasons must have been an interesting experience. For me, the older Lance was the perfect heir to Falcon Crest; he had put his wild years behind him and was ready to take on responsibility. I was glad the season 9 writing team didn't turn him into an evil Lance; the worst thing he did that season was probably getting a tattoo during his bizarre trip to Mexico. For me, season 3 was Lance’s best. The drama with Melissa—which had already made him entertaining in season 2—continued, but season 3 added the layer of him grappling with the knowledge that his mother was a murderer. Overall, I think Lorenzo Lamas really grew as an actor during his time on Falcon Crest. While I wouldn't say his performances when Lorraine and later Melissa died were spectacular, he was certainly convincing in his portrayal of grief.
