[QUOTE="CeeCee72, post: 270589, member: 5055"] I don't own any of the characters in this story and no copyright infringement is intended. This fic is an alternate timeline where the dream season wasn't a dream. It picks up of after the last episode of season 9. *** Life Is But a Dream Part 12: *** "We're approximately ten minutes out from the hospital," the EMT barked into the radio. "Blood pressure is 70/50. Respiratory depressed. She's unconscious. Starting fluids. Have an emergency med team waiting." JR held tightly onto Sue Ellen's hand. "Come on honey," he pleaded. "You can do this. Fight for me. Wake up." "Is she allergic to anything?" "What?" JR looked up at the EMT. "Your wife. Is she allergic to anything?" "Oh. No." JR watched the young man start an IV on Sue Ellen. "What are you giving her?" "Just fluids," he answered. "We can't do anything else for her until they figure out what drugs are in her system." "Will she be okay?" "We're doing everything we can, Mr. Ewing." JR closed his eyes and prayed with all his strength. "Please God. Please let her be alright." *** Mark sat silently, eating his dinner and listening to Pam and Cliff plot against JR. He was so sick of hearing about it that it took every bit of self-control he had not to get up and storm away from the table. He despised JR with every fiber of his being. But he didn't believe JR was responsible for what happened to Jamie. JR probably felt sure that he had Angelica under control. As despicable as JR was, even Mark knew he wouldn't do anything deliberately to put his family in danger. Sometimes the best laid plans, made with the best of intentions got twisted around and things got out of control. Mark knew that better than most men. And he was in no position to stand in judgement of JR Ewing. Or anyone else. *** Jerry put down the phone and growled. It would be all over the news soon. The dramatic rescue of Sue Ellen Ewing would dominate newspapers and television for days. JR had saved her. Her knight in shining white armor. He pushed the phone off his desk with a violent shrug and cursed. Everything had been ruined. And now JR Ewing was going to have to pay. *** Flowers. There were flowers everywhere. And a diamond. She could see it shining. She felt happy. He was with her, holding her in his arms. But… There was beeping. And bells. Coming from somewhere outside… Her eyes snapped open and she saw men in white coats standing over her. She screamed and fought as hard as she could. They were hurting her again. "Get away from me!" She cried, thrashing around. "Stop it!" "Sue Ellen!" She stopped struggling immediately. That voice… "JR…" she whispered. Suddenly he was there. He was right there with her. She felt him take her hand and watched as he leaned over her. "It's alright, honey. I'm here." "JR…" she whispered again. "Are you...is this real? Or am I remembering…." "It's real, honey. I'm real. I'm right here with you. You're safe, now honey. But I need you to let these doctors help you. I promise you, I won't leave you and I won't let anyone hurt you ever again." "Yes, I found you, honey. And I won't ever let you go again." *** "How is she?" "We don't know. She's drugged. They're giving her fluids to flush the drugs out of her system.
