Yes, she hadn't seen the biological mother in half-a-century, How does Mom know what her daughter, removed from the house as a child for abuse in the '70s, know what her daughter is like at all?? Even some Republicans have called foul on the ad. But JD Vance called foul on those calling foul (Vance ought to be better than this, but of course is proving he isn't). Oh, yes. The infamous 2000 election -- and it was obviously stolen the night it happened. After Gore was initially called "the winner," a live feed to the Bushes' Florida hotel room saw the family leap to its feet (including Barbara's big ol' ass) and scream at the TV... I remember thinking: "this is odd"... Yes, it's normal to be upset by a family member's loss, but their reaction looked more like --- 'Hey, this is not what the hell we paid for!' 45 minutes later, Tom Brokaw (who once looked at me through a crowd and smiled in NYC) came back on the air and, almost fumbling for words, announced they were having to rescind the "win for Gore" proclamation because one key state had just been reversed. My cynical thought then was: 'it better not be Florida.' It was Florida. And suddenly Dubya was president. And I have never seen that damning footage of the Bush family's reaction in the hotel room again. Not once... And then there was the weeks-long scandal that followed. Afterwards, the Republicans wanted to roll out those electronic touch-screen voting machines, and the Democrats fought it because the machines couldn't be audited nor leave a paper trail (making them obvious tools for potential hacking). Which led to Dubya winning artificially a second time in 2004 --- even though exit polls, which had Dubya losing, had their greatest schism from the official vote in history, the vote decided by Diebold state, Ohio, where the owner said publicly he would do whatever he could to help Dubya win again. The media gasped at the official-vote-versus-exit-poll schism for a single day, and never mentioned it again. But this what happened when a president is "elected" falsely two times in a row -- you get one of the most destructive presidencies in history, that of George Dubya Bush. Yes, election can be rigged. And that's why the parties later flipped on the electronic voting machines after a while: the Democrats now wanted them, and the Republicans wanted to stop them.
