To my surprise, I was about to watch an episode and now I have to pay. What a bummer.

why not just buy the dvd's? while they aren't the remastered episodes you only have to buy them once and no Commercials for one thing

Yes, that sucks. I've been rewatching the series recently, and I was halfway through season 5 when it switched from free to buy or rent.

Dallas is now the only one of the four primetime soaps of the 80s to not stream for free in the US.

I own the entire series on DVD, but my DVD player is buried under a bunch of junk because I haven't hooked it up in years. I've been watching streaming content exclusively for quite a while now. I'm also not sure what condition the DVDs are in, as I heard the glue on the older double-sided DVDs deteriorates over time (these were bought close to 20 years ago.) I played a DVD from my seasons 1 and 2 set a few years ago, and it skipped like crazy. I get why there are physical media advocates, but even that has its drawbacks.

Speaking of DVDs, here's a short video on the Region 1 all-in-one (with a modified version of the original Region 1 seasonals, in that apparently each season [including the first and second ones w/the 1978 miniseries that is counted as Season 1] is in a keepcase).

i've been watching my dvd i bought the first season at least 20 years ago or maybe close to that and it still works. but than i keep that on my shelf if it's in boxes and boxed for years i dunno. maybe that's when Disc Rot does happen more

the quality of Apple TV or Amazon are far way better than dvd , I watch Dallas on Apple TV, the hd version is amazing

we don't have Apple tv. but picture wise i understand that but nothing beats Physical media

It´s funny, just when "Dallas" is announced to return to Spain after decades of withdrawal, the American streamers seem to start changing their minds about the right policy and it´s not free anymore... (More news about "our" return in the thread up there).

pluto is free at least in the US. funny enough i've never watched Dynasty i held no interest in it as a kid back when it was on. i don't think even my folks watched that one they did watch Dallas though which is in my opinion a far better show. for whatever reason i still haven't sought Dynasty out even today lol
