The last two commentaries were just as enjoyable as the first, with lots of information about the series, the cast and crew. And of course Jersey. I had wondered why Francine had disappeared without comment for Series Two, and it turned out the be the actress's choice, with Cecile Paoli wishing to focus on her film career. Also fascinating to hear about the trajectory of Greta Scacchi's career from a Bergerac perspective. Not only was The Hood And The Harlequin her first professional work - fresh out of the Bristol Old Vic's Theatre School - but she was discovered in the episode by James Ivory and within weeks of it airing was flown to India for her leading role in Heat And Dust. Lots of other little titbits cropped up along the way, from Liza Goddard taking hubby Alvin Stardust and their kids along to Jersey when filming, to the fact that Jim's barn conversion home in the first series is now underwater. All in all, sitting in on this little chat between two friends was a lovely way to round off the series. Greedy me wishes there were more commentaries, but I'm grateful we got these three.
