I think the show owes much of its success to the cast who (for the most part) were much better than the writing. John Ritter, Norman Fell and Audra Lindley were all very talented actors. I think Joyce DeWitt did as well as anyone could with a thankless role. Suzanne Somers got lucky, any halfway decent buxom blonde actress could probably have played her role just as well, if not better. I never understood how Somers was considered a sex symbol - DeWitt was much prettier.</p></blockquote><p></p>
