Aside from the cliff-hangers here are my 10 DALLAS favourites: 1. Digger’s Daughter 2. Who Done It? 3. Bar-B-Que 4. Home Again 5. The Dove Hunt 6. Mastectomy : Part 2 7. The Fourth Son 8. The Search 9. Jock’s Will 10. Enigma Bobby and JR are in JR’s office, after hours, discussing their latest oil deal. Sly then announces that Wes Parmalee is their next appointment. Could he really be Jock? Wes says that he is leaving Dallas and that nobody from the family accepts him, as Jock, except maybe Ray. JR talks about the dollars again and Wes claims he is not there for them. What he has come about is to say goodbye to Bobby and JR, (a scene from season 9, DVD-10, 1986-’87): JR: “That’s a very noble speech daddy, now how about the truth?” Wes: “What truth?” JR: “The truth that you realise you can’t pull off that little charade. You’re a fraud and we all know that.” Wes: “How could a fraud know the things I know?” Bobby: “The Ewings are a mighty public family. Anybody can dig up a certain amount of information on us.” Wes: “Then you tell me how I could have found out about the little hunting trip that you, JR, Ray and me took over to lake Takapa? How we ran into that crazy old coot and his son, how they ambushed and shot me.” Wes then raises his voice further, for JR’s benefit, “And how could I have red about thinking I was dying and telling you about Amanda, my first wife. How you had to look after me. You tell me how anyone on God’s green earth but Jock Ewing would know that?” Bobby and JR stand beside Jock’s infamous oil painting, as Wes walks towards the elevator. The frame freezes, fade to black, the closing credits commence with the theme music.
