As a result his place as second seed was given to a qualifier but had he pulled out the day before all the seeds below him would have moved up one place. The result is that Federer and Nadal are now seeded to meet in the semi-final instead of the final, which I'm sure is what most fans would have preferred, had Murray withdrawn earlier.</p></blockquote><p></p>
