Yes, yes, I know I already talked about Allison getting together with Rodney, but that's for the original series. I'm actually thinking more of my own version of Allison. I mean, when I think of the character's love life through the entire franchise (the book, the movie, the TV series, the sequels for each one), Allison's love life *sucks*. There's none of them that she ever could have a happily ever after with, and yet she couldn't stop falling in love. No matter what happened to her, the character of Allison MacKenzie wants love. Which is why I decided on a few particular details for my own version, but they're kinda spoilerly.

I will say this: I decided that Allison ends up leaving town to go live in New York for two seasons, before she comes back.

True! Oh boy, just wait till you find out what I have in store for those two in my version! [QUOTE="Ked, post: 440536, member: 54"] Fair argument. But Allison always felt so *integral* to the Peyton Place-verse; especially since she was, y'know, the MAIN CHARACTER in the original book and the movie. And the way she left, just this broken shell flitting off into the darkness... it felt like such a disservice. Especially after the character was put through so much undeserved punishment (seeing Rod publicly cheat on her by dancing with both Betty and Sandy, and then him breaking up with her after she proposes, seeing her girlfriend dead on the beach, Chris telling her she's incapable of love, etc). I find Rodney a complete bore. I roll my eyes so often at him. He was a weak man, which is actually surprisingly in keeping with how he was described in the book: Grace Metalious never meant for Rodney to be a romantic hero; he was a spoilt brat through and through, with no use other than to die in a car crash caused by his own horny negligence. I will agree about Betty, though. She definitely could have carried the show on her shoulders. That's a fair argument. The show started with Dr. Rossi, ended with Dr. Rossi, and kept him as a steady presence throughout. It actually was a smart move to make him the town doctor instead of the new principal, as his profession meant he could get involved with everybody in town and not just anyone related to the high school. Another fair point. I'll give you that. Now *THAT* is something we are 100% agreed on! That's why in my own personal remake (which I *AM* still working on, believe it or not, lol), Connie and Mike do end up together. Minor spoiler: Mike proposes to Connie in the Season 3 finale, and they get married in Season 5 (that might seem like a long engagement, but timeline-wise, it actually isn't). True! Oh boy, just wait till you find out what I have in store for those two in my version! Mwahahahahahahahahaaa! Well that's good. :) And I was always interested in the Miles family, I thought they were a welcome addition.
