Was "Who Shot Bobby" Lazy Writing?

I liked the storyline, but it's obviously a rehash of "who shot JR." Just like in who shot JR, Bobby's shot late night at the Ewing building. Instead of a drunken Sue Ellen who blacked out getting arrested, we have the same scenario with Cliff. Once again, a woman scorned is the shooter.

Dallas was still Dallas during this season and they were still coming up with some good storylines, but couldn't they had come up with something more original for "who shot Bobby?"

No, DALLAS' oft-repeated themes (JR being shot, gun-crazy sisters-in-law, plane crashes) just was what the show did. Like the Kennedys, the same things just keep happening over and over again, the family caught in a karmic drama vortex from whence it cannot escape.

I liked that cliffhanger more than the inferno and Cliff's attempted suicide in previous seasons, only the reveal was lazy: it was the sister-in-law again. Katherine had no future on the show anyway after what happened towards the end of the season, so she was the easiest choice.

The difference with this one, though, was that the rerun was meant to be recognised so that the final twist would be stunning
