[QUOTE="Mustard, post: 420299, member: 46"] Too early in the timeline for that. Afton debuted in Season 4 DVD of Dallas around the time of her brother Mitch's first wedding to Lucy. Gary and Val were there for that wedding too, visiting from Knots Landing, and still together. It was Season 2 of Knots Landing at that time. Capricorn Crude was written by Val around the time of Gary's increasing attraction to, and eventual affair with, Abby, in Season 3 of Knots Landing. J.R. got a signed copy of the Capricorn Crude book from Val in Season 4 of Knots Landing, which was the same time as Season 6 DVD of Dallas, broadcasting on the same night as Jock's Will in fact. Ewing Oil was very famous in Texas, and pretty famous in Washington DC, so they would be known in Biloxi, Mississippi, where Afton was from. Mickey Trotter from Emporia, Kansas, had heard of Ewing Oil too. Ewing Oil is still smaller fish compared to Denver-Carrington and ColbyCo in Dynasty, though. The latter two owned Colorado, were BIG in Washington DC to the point of personal relationships with the biggest names there, and were very famous internationally. The Ewings punched above their weight, especially J.R.'s international shenanigans to make them billionaires. J.R. is similar to Donald Trump in the sense that he was never really accepted into the elitist club or cartel, being too crude (haha) and too willing to say things out loud that the elitists would prefer to be left unsaid.
