[QUOTE="Daniel Avery, post: 321344, member: 27"] Perhaps we gravitate to certain villains like Victor because we are bored with the status quo and secretly hope they "win" because it would mean a change from the usual plotting. I know part of what made me love Dr. Obrecht initially was how she gleefully made Robin miserable, since Robin was becoming an insufferable goody-goody. Her warped world view was rather entertaining, especially her "situational pragmatism" where sometimes she saw nothing wrong with killing someone who was in the way. I like Victor's "selling point" of wanting to reunite the Cassadine family and leverage their power, since we can be sure Nikolas the "Prince" (heir) isn't going to do it, and all the other Cassadines are scattered to the four winds doing their own thing. People forget that the Davis Coven (Alexis, Sam, Molly, and Kristina) are all Cassadines, and lord knows none of them act like it. And for the first time in ages, the "rising villain" of PC isn't mob-related (that is, in direct opposition to Sonny) so we get to see a good-vs.evil plotline that does not involve having to root for the lesser of two evils. I worry that this plotline will lose valuable momentum, though, because Charles Shaughnessy took some time off for hip replacement surgery and his absence from the series should be coming up soon.
