So Kelly Thiebaud (Britt) is leaving the series to resume a role she had on Station 19. Good for her, of course, but it's a shame they've only just gotten around to establishing Britt as a viable lead character. Thiebaud has always turned in a good performance, even in her Britch-iest days. I have to wonder, however, where this leaves Josh Kelly and his new, floundering "Cody" character, since it's pretty obvious he was brought in to be her love interest. I also fear it might further push my dear Liesl further into the background. There are persistent rumors (and a few cryptic tweets) that give the impression Kin Shriner is not at all happy with the show at the moment for reducing his screen time even further. If I were writing the show, I'd have Nina draft Auntie Liesl to run Nina's half of the MetroCourt, what with Nina busy running Crimson. Liesl, as you will recall, was Chief of Staff at GH for a while, and spent years offscreen running her Clinic for the Not-Quite-Dead. That is significant administrative experience (much more than either Olivia or Carly had), and the hotel could use some of that German/Swiss level of organization and efficiency. It would be funny at first to see Olivia being driven up the wall, but eventually seeing that Liesl has good ideas and makes the place run much easier, giving Olivia more time to spend with Leo and Ned. We could then watch Carly's head explode when she sees Olivia and Liesl acting friendly, with Olivia defending Liesl on occasion. As for Britt, I'm not sure they ought to recast the role (though I'd keep an open mind if they did). I certainly hope they don't make the mistake of killing her off (even if it's a "killing off" in that inconclusive way soaps do). If they opt not to recast and have her leave town, have her get a message from Jason (!!) that he is recovering in a secret location and wants her to join him.
