We've had some fun discussions about Sue Ellen's "grocery getter". Remember that she didn't buy it, J.R. or Jock did. Sue Ellen may not have even been allowed to pick it out. One of the reasons for giving Sue Ellen the station wagon was to keep her in her place. It was Sue Ellen's job to provide a child for J.R. and a Grandchild for Jock and Miss Ellie. With that big wagon, she would never forget why she was on Southfork. Sue Ellen was a tragic character.
