Based on the fact that I find it surprising to imagine him playing a roué I'd say the series must have been somewhat successful in shaking off his Adventures/Under The Doctor image, but that wouldn't have fitted the narrative as conveniently as the angle that he went from Adventures Of A Taxi Driver to being an actual cabbie.</blockquote>
