Why Was Bobby So Short With Ray At JR's Funeral?

Ray's and Lucy is reminiscing about JR and Bobby stops over and Ray says "I just think he's gonna somehow show up again." Bobby snaps at him with "He won't."

What was that all about and was that their last scene together?

I took Bobby's response as words said in grief. Yes it appears he snaps, but to me it's more like well he never is going to show up now, not ever.
Duffy's delivery wasn't the best here, but I believe Bobby meant it's really final and there's no more JR ever.
