Well, I don't know about Steven #1, but I know where Steven #2 was hiding out until Blake found him: as Holly Harwood's so-very-contemptuous-of-J.R. secretary, Elliot.

I can also see Hexum as Mark Jennings´ gay younger brother who teaches NuSteven the truth about "I´m gay but sleep with and marry women"...

I don't want to see his perfect beauty being squandered for the sake of a cheesy storyline.
I want him to be more like an entity, a confrontation between divine beauty and the Dynasty ugliness covered with glitz & glamour. The gardener of Eden, or something like that.
Dynasty needed more beautiful scenes instead of more couples and romances and whatnot.

Instead of the Rita storyline in Season 6, I always wanted Krystle to fall in platonic love with a handsome, black gardener - someone like Georg Stanford Brown or a young Denzel Washington, whom she would cut roses with. And then spend literally hours flower arranging them around the mansion with a joyful Krystle smile on her face.

It would be sweet, taboo and forbidden, and of course Blake could never understand it, and Alexis would be tickled pink and try and blackmail the gardener and call him 'Lady Krystle's lover."

Of course Dynasty would never go for it, but it would have kept the ratings up, especially with black audiences.

And yes Jon Eric should have been cast as Tony

Plus, who wouldn't want to see Jon Erik Dexum stiff and wooden?

It sounds like a win for everyone!

I think Snarky suggested that someone like Jon Erik could only belong to the family of heavenly people.

And also confuse the characters, except for Krystle who was equally beautiful in her own way.

Linda and Jon-Erik were both Sun in Scorpio/Moon in Aries. (For all that's worth).

Joan liked him. Although she never mentioned him again after he shot himself. (She probably saw that as "weak" and that was that).

He could play one of Krystle's various cousins. With a family bloodline of head injuries -- which later infects the Carringtons.

Even Linda did a cop show:

It was called HUNTER (1977), created by STARSKY & hUTCH's William Blinn, produced by Lorimar's Lee Rich & Philip Capice of DALLAS, and POLICE WOMAN's David Gerber.

Not to be confused for the later Fred Dreyer series of the same title.

Based on his looks and likability, I'd almost love to have seen Hexum as Ted Dinard. But could he have been convincing as an Ivy League graduate?

Absolutely not. He was just too self-conscious and (being generous) green and inexperienced.

Besides, ABC demanded Steven's male lover, if he had to exist at all, be cast with an older, paunchy actor in order to de-sexualize the relationship between Ted & Steven. (Mark Withers didn't look all that bad, and he could act it).

And there's the karmic connection between Ted Dinard and Roger Grimes (with whom I always re-cast with myself -- I want to be shot in the back of the head by toddler Fallon and then dumped in a lake in 1964... which, in fact, almost happened).

I think this is what happened in that Swiss Clinique:

^^
God, she's just so gorgeous. In the '70s, Linda and Joan were almost beyond beautiful.

I almost wish the series had started a few years earlier.

The point is, who could ever leave a hunk like Hexum? Not even Steven-bot could! And, of course, Blake would have been the one killed in their famous fight...

I don't want Dex, whoever was cast, to show up in Season 4 -- it seems too early to me. I'd have him appear early in Season 7, the wealthy Wyoming cowboy and green beret with whom Alexis shacked up in Acapulco when he was fresh out of Vietnam, circa 1975. And whom Alexis abandoned six years later, in 1981, to go testify at Blake's murder trial in Denver, the first Mrs. Carrington swearing she'd soon return to Mexico, yet never did.

So, five years later, having long-since relocated to Rio de Janeiro, Dex (cast with someone other than Michael Nader) appears in Colorado once Alexis takes over Blake's company and estate.

I refuse to wait for Dex to show up that long. I want him to come in in Season 4 and have a fling with Fallon - just like Pamela Sue Martin wanted!
