Just watched this 40 minute documentary on Netflix and it was really excellent. It tells the story of wildfires that destroyed the town of Paradise in California in 2018, claiming the lives of 85 people. A combination of footage and survivors telling their story takes you through events as they unfolded, and does a great job of giving you a real sense of the terror of being trapped and surrounded by these huge fires. It's gripping and emotional and very well made.

I started watching 'Who Killed Little Gregory?' but didn't really have the brainpower to see it through so went to something more lighthearted and started watching a series about inmates on Texas' death row....

I don´t know if this should go in the Star Interviews thread, but it strictly is a bio documentary about the amazing Jack Lemmon. Enjoy it!

From his first story, a heartbreaking love story of two men in prison, it's clear we are in the presence of a master story teller. Captivating from start to finish.

The story of Fred Rogers, which has now been made into a movie starring Tom Hanks. Heart-warming and inspiring. A real delight.

Just watched it. Yet again it shows what success and power can do to a person. I'm not saying he's a victim, but he was also affected by megalomania, albeit in the role of predator.

To me, the most intriguing part was when the bald guy told about his dilemma. I don't feel sorry for him but I can understand why he almost hated the victims. They "ruined" everything for him eventhough he knew what was going on. It's all very messy and incestuous, and people end up in positions they never thought they would be (no pun intended).

I've seen the word "guru" in some of the last few posts. The last documentary I saw was Tony Robbins: I Am Not Your Guru. Tony Robbins is unbelievably good at what he does.

Just finished Ken Burns' nine-part series on the history of Country Music. Utterly fascinating and deeply moving. I loved it, but when I tried to tell muso friends of mine about it who I thought would be interested, their eyes invariably glazed over, so it's probably only interesting if you're already interested in the subject to begin with.

I haven't watched part 2 yet. Part 1 added very little that I didn't already know about the case from news coverage.

I was considering checking this out. Is it worth the watch? I actually don't really know anything about the case except what I've seen in the trailer.
