I honestly don't think I've re-watched the entire season since when it originally aired. I've tried and dipped in here and there, but it's just not very good.

Imagine killing Sidney but letting Samantha live. That apartment complex is a pit of hell. Although that's not how Matt thinks of it while he reminisces about his time there before he abruptly leaves to go work in San Francisco with his dweeby annoying as f**k niece. He talks about the apartment complex as if it was the greatest place, and the happiest place. He's obviously not been watching the show he's living in.

I can't remember the full details of the plot with Taylor and Michael drugging Peter or what that was all even about. Now Michael is in hospital having surgery on his hands? What happened to his hands? There was a whole elaborate scene where Peter is about to marry Taylor and then dramatically objects to this himself. And tells Taylor in front of the wedding guests that the thought of marrying her makes him want to vomit. That he knows about them drugging him and their little plan, I wish I remembered or knew as much as Peter. He calls her sick for trying to live her dead sisters life, and then storms off.

Then Taylor back into the apartment complex and Amanda tries to evict her but she's not budging. Then Peter shows up to drop off Taylors belongings and Amanda hears them argue and Taylor saying she's pregnant. Amanda relays this to Kyle who she's seeing now. Kyle confronts Taylor about drinking while pregnant and Taylor tells Kyle that the baby is his? There are so many WTFs in such little time. I just... I don't know what I am watching here.

Then Taylor is suddenly at Peter's telling him that she's lying to Kyle and telling him she's pregnant with his baby. Peter says doesn't he assume it's mine? Taylor has lied again and told Kyle that Peter is sterile. Now they have both agreed to play along with this scheme of hers so that Peter can get back with the love of his life Amanda, and Taylor can get back with Kyle.

Some new doctor has moved into the building, but not before he stupidly had a conversation with Dr Kimberly Shaw's grave stone. He's obviously here for revenge but I don't have a clue who he is.
When he moved in he gets the most cringeworthy run down of what's going on in the building from Megan who has to recite a shit load of exposition to him as if it's normal.

Craig is heartbroken over Sidney's death and has also sworn revenge on Samantha. I hate Samantha, I can't wait for this. Jennifer, Michael's sister has been pouncing on every opportunity to "comfort" him. I can't blame her. Anyways, she gets him at a particularly weak moment and they end up having sex. I guess you have strike when you can.

It's all awful. Really, really awful! F**king terrible... But I have started, so I'll finish.

Maybe.

Peter pushed Michael through the glass window in the Mancini/Burns office when he found out about Taylor and his plot; he then took Taylor to "marry" her and was about to push her off a ledge in the season 5 finale when she announced she was pregnant. Of course Taylor had figured out that Peter was about to kill her, hence why she lied initially.

He's actually played by Linden Ashby, who appeared in season one as Jo's abusive ex husband. And no, that's not who he is, he's a new character now. Just Spelling's love of recycling actors.

It's so funny with Melrose Place I never remember anything. I think it's because I honestly don't care about most of the characters. Like I remember so much about Dynasty and The Colbys and Dallas and Knots Landing. Those all stuck in my mind. Watching Melrose Place is different, it's sometimes good, mostly annoying and often forgettable.

Although only two episodes into this season and it seems, even more especially stupid.

I'd completely forgotten that he had any connection to Kimberly but then again, I'd completely forgotten most things about his character. The only good thing I recall is that he facilitated the arrival of Jamie Luner. Other than that, he falls into the same awful late-period Melrose character category as Sam & Jennifer.

Oh God! I'd also forgotten all about this nadir of MP plotline. If I remember correctly (and I'm not spoiling much here) his hand operation leads to an arc involving him, Jennifer & Craig, where Michael designs an electronic hand medical device.

Now Taylor is blackmailing Michael into getting her sperm from a sperm bank so she will actually be pregnant, since Amanda is not convinced and will be wanting proof. I hate the character of Taylor! Everything has to be some stupid hairbrained Scooby Doo plot. It's daft, and Lisa Rinna doesn't have the talent to pull off the ridiculous stuff like Laura Leighton and Marica Cross did. Taylor is written differently and she's just not compelling to watch. It's a combination of things, they are regurgitating past Melrose whackjobs, but the writing is much worse, and the acting is much worse so it's shit.

Craig has had a visit from whiney Samantha who tells him that she's hurting too, WTF! Craig screams at her to get out, obviously still hating her and blaming her for Sid's death. Later that night he attempts to run her over. Sadly for all involved and all watching, he chickens out. They both end up on the pavement crying and kiss. So like, does Craig only get action if he cries? I hate this show now. It's a televisual hate f**k.

Lisa Rinna and Linden Ashby. Both. At the same time. As if one of these dreadful actors isn't enough. Maybe Aaron should have kept Hunter Tylo - baby bump and all.

Ha, I remember that. I even mentioned it on this forum, that the actor played two different roles but everyone disagreed because it wasn't exactly the same as "two different roles". The brilliant logic of it all.

I keep wondering what real pop songs of the day were playing over the opening credits each episode, when they have been changed to generic stuff for the DVD. Now it's songs that sound like they are off the Lizzie McGuire soundtrack!

Oh... Wow... Jamie Luner just popped up! I wasn't expecting her to appear until next season!

My God this writing is absolutely TERRIBLE. Peter and Lexi's first scenes together in the hotel. It's, just so terrible. Really cringe worthy cliched cheesy awfulness.
There's a whole plot where Amanda makes a hostile take over of Craig's advertising company and I don't even fully understand it or understand why I am supposed to care. Anyway it's done. Whatever.

Taylor is really testing me. I REALLY HATE HER. I mean she's now decided that having a sperm donor isn't how she wants to go about getting pregnant and is now harassing Michael into having sex with her when she's ovulating. Admittedly it doesn't take much harassing for Michael to put his genitalia in anything. So now he's sleeping with Megan and Taylor at the same time, all while he's supposed to being truthful to Megan on the orders of their therapist. I think it's supposed to be this funny comedic relief storyline where he's running between women but really it's annoying as hell and makes me want to rip out every hair on Lisa Rinna's head one by one. I hate her. She RUINED Melrose Place. There I said it.

Well that's four episodes done and that's quite enough of that nonsense for one night.

Lexi was such a disappointment - when it was first rumoured Jamie Luner would join it was as Peyton Richards, searching for a new life in Los Angeles. And then we got Lexi, pill-popping neurotic wreck, which might've been good on Peyton Place, but not on Melrose Place!

I remember thinking Taylor was one of the bright spots of season 6... so yeah, there you go. Happy viewing!

There's also the great plot with Michael and the stripper who steals his tv (no seriously, that's the whole plot).

Skimming through this leads me to believe I never watched a single episode of S6; there are character names I have no recollection of whatsoever. I'm not even sure how much of S5 I watched. I think MELROSE fell apart fast and hard.

Melrose fell apart circa half-way through season 4 when Darren Star's outlines ended. Then it went into insanity and constant trying to rebuild. It then had a surprisingly solid final season when a Knots Landing scribe was brought on board. And then cancelled because we can't have nice things.

Honestly, I'd jump to episode 200 and watch from there. Yes, the set-up plot for season 7 is hokey as hell, but it works.

I found Jennifer Mancini the most boring character but Lisa Rinna managed to be out of place even in a series like Melrose Place. It's...too much.
Carmen Electra had a similar effect on Hyperion Bay. They may as well had done a UFO storyline. Come to think of it, a UFO is never a bad storyline.
