The other day I was listening to my Ciji album (aka Lisa Hartman's Letterock).
I know that not all the songs were used on Knots Landing but the only one I can clearly recall is "New Romance (It's a Mystery)" which was playing while she cycled through the city streets.
Does anyone have a list of specific scenes where the songs were featured?

If Love Must Go is performed in full at the end of The Best Kept Secret.

Games was sung in A New Family where Gary interrupts Ciji's recording session.

New Romance (It's A Mystery) was used over the opening of Celebration.

Snippets of Hole In My Heart seemed to be used every other episode. It's the song I most strongly associate with Ciji, but specific scenes aren't springing to mind. I suspect the end of it might have been heard during the same recording session as Games.

Is that when he yells about ruining lives? I'll have to listen again with that in mind. ;)

I'm fairly sure it is, yes. Though it's so shamefully long since I've watched I'm doubting myself a little.

Yeah, you tend to kind of forget what she was singing once Gary starts howling. Sort of like asking "So other than that, how was the play, Mrs. Lincoln?"

There is a great song missing off her album. The one where the camera pans to each character at the dinner table as she sings the lyrics the characters are going through.

I wonder if Lisa Hartman and whoever owns her copyright are the ones holding up a full Knots seasons release?

If this is the main stumbling block, then why don't we all message her or her agent and start crowdfunding to say we'll agree to sign up and buy some of her remastered records, as part of a joint Knots Landing-Lisa Hartman re-release project? That way her record company gets paid, she gets some royalties, and we get to see the rest of Knots released properly at last, either streaming or as a DVD box set. I'd pre-pay for the lot if its not too extortionate.

Would other tellytalk members agree? As they are now doing Sons & Daughters on DVD, maybe it's not too late for Knots....

I don't think there are any further DVD releases planned because the first two seasons didn't sell well. I also think it's not because of Lisa Hartman's songs. Because then you could already have released the 3rd season on DVD, since Hartman only appeared from season 4 .

I agree her music is not the issue. But I really wish they would release more of Knots on DVD. I'd love to complete my collection.

A new record company did re-release all of Lisa's albums on CD about a decade ago or so. I bought all four of her albums. It was great! :ribbon:
I love her music and her voice. Too bad she isn't singing anymore.

Oh Lisa Hartman has mostly performed as a singer for the past 20 years. Unfortunately "only" as a duet partner of her husband Clint Black - and only in the music profession of country music. Too bad. I would have loved to hear her as a solo singer. In my opinion she is also the better singer compared to Clint Black. You heard that very clearly at the performances of "The Masked Singer" last fall when they performed live as snow owls.

I have been rewatching the whole show -- now in season 4 -- and it's so great to have rediscovered Lisa Hartman's music. I can't believe that she wasn't more successful. I have been streaming Letterock all day long -- an 80s classic.

A question: does anyone know who wrote the song "You're the one" (the song "composed" by Ginger and performed by Ginger the night of Ciji's killing) and whether any other artist has recorded it? I have been trying to find information about the song but have come up short. Thank you!
