"Hit TV show Frasier to be revived after 20 years
The hit 1990s US TV show Frasier, which starred Kelsey Grammer as a pedantic psychiatrist with his own radio show, is set to return.
Grammer confirmed the show's revival saying: "I gleefully anticipate sharing the next chapter in the continuing journey of Dr Frasier Crane."
There has been no confirmation that other members of the original cast will also return."

I loved Frasier but not too sure about this. It had kind of run out of steam by the time it ended and Frasier appeared to have moved away from Seattle? I wonder if the re-boot will just be about him, with maybe some guest appearances from the old cast here and there. We'll have to see.

Pretty much my thoughts. I enjoyed FRASIER but thought it was exhausted by the end; I don't know how much juice is left to be squeezed out of the character. I'll probably check it out, but there's too much great, new television available for me to be overly excited about dredging up something from 20 years ago.

Jane Leeves is currently a regular on another series, so her involvement would seem iffy unless she's going to be pulling double duty.

Honestly, Frasier in a completely different environment with a new cast of characters -- with occasional guest appearances from the earlier cast -- might be the better way to go. Just as his move from CHEERS to his solo show was an upheaval, maybe that's what's needed again. Of course that's creatively risky, especially for fans who just want to see the old series dusted off.

My first thought was no, I don't see how it can work. The show gave everyone their "happily ever after" with Frazier leaving for Chicago to pursue a relationship with Laura Linney's character. I thought perhaps the producers could partner with Kelsey Grammer in a new series as a different character but I thought this could turn into a situation like Lucille Ball working with the same production team with each new series being inferior to the ones that came before. My other reservation to a reboot is that Martin Crane is now living happily ever after in rerun land but a reboot would have to acknowledge the character's death due to the passing of John Mahoney.

I can see a new series in a new setting with new supporting characters. Maybe Frazier is no longer hosting a radio show and is now a college professor, I think that could work. Having Frazier in private practice with several recurring patients would be too similar to The Bob Newhart Show.

I can absolutely see it working. Frasier has obviosly left Seattle to begin anew somewhere else. Perhaps after Martin's death or another divorce? He can never make a relationship work afterall. He's the funniest when he's a loser and gets angry.

I've lost almost any interest in rebooted (or "continuation" of) sitcoms after Will & Grace (outdated humour) and Murphy Brown (too well-meaning instead of funny). Too much reminiscing (and retcons in Will & Grace) of the past. Murphy Brown could have been so much better if the focus would have been on Murphy's conservative son Avery (struggling with the Trump government at his Faux News like workplace) and Murphy's young social media manager, both were the most lively characters. Murphy was the only legacy character who was needed for the show - kind of sad to see that fail.

The Conners aren't perfect but somehow became much better after Roseanne left and the show had to restructure the family dynamic. Katey Sagal is so far the best addition as Dan's new love. She's a character who fits into Lanford. But my main reason to watch are Becky and Darlene, I think they're the most relatable characters.

I'll watch Frasier only if it's a visible new show. Meaning they should keep only Frasier and surround him with new work colleagues and family we don't know (maybe Nile's adult kids who also could work with him, the show ended in 2004 so they need to SORAS them only a bit).

I think there was talk at one time of continuing with the two of them in Chicago but that didn't pan out. There have also been earlier reports of a new show placing Frasier in a new environment and it looks like that's still the direction they're heading.

I love Fraiser as well and honestly i think it's a better show than Cheers but that's just my own opinion. i enjoy Cheers (1982-1993 ) don't get me wrong but i Love Fraiser and what really will hurt the show is the fact that John Mahoney died a few years ago. it's not gonna be an awful show don't get me wrong but he was one of the reasons why that show was just so good. i just hope that is written in

I’m excited for it coming back but I do agree that without John Mahoney it’s not going to be the same. I think it’s going to be a much different show than what we were used to. But I’ve always thought that Kelsey Grammer is extremely talented so I do think it can work.

I thought Cheers was overrated, especially after Nicholas Colasanto passed. I thought Frasier was much better.
