I'm so pleased for them to have escaped that family as they seem happy and content with their new lives. Now we just need to rest of the Royal Family to also became financially independent instead of dipping into the pockets of some of the poorest people in society.

I like the Queen, although didn’t for a long time after Diana’s death. I do think she has tried to adapt and change according to what is needed.

But it more or less ends for me there. I have no time for their lifestyle, animal killing, attitudes and couldn’t care less because I can get away with it attitude. I dread the day that overgrown over privileged nitwit Charles becomes king and hope a good dose of karma visits him and his ghastly wife before that happens.

They take everything away from Harry and Meghan but Charles has been constantly rewarded for his poor behaviour and choices.

He should never be king.

And, reading the news of Eugenie’s sons birth today and having everyone congratulate Prince Andrew is mind blowing. When Meghan announced her pregnancies, she was slated for them. But it’s ok if your Granda associated with a sex offender, because he’s a prince.

Andrew and Charles have ALWAYS gotten a pass. I have never understood it. Their wives were shamed. Their Aunt shamed. Their sister shamed. Their daughters and daughters in law shamed. But they can do whatever, and the Queen and the British press seems to look away.

Maybe because they have a Y chromosome?

Charles is seen as too important and the throne his birthright. It would have upset everything too much to take that away from him - in the Crown’s eyes anyway.

But it happened before with Edward and Mrs Simpson. Charles should have been told - you want Camilla, it comes at the expense of the throne. But noooo. Has to have it both ways and hell be damned with Diana, the children, and anyone else. I can’t bear him.

Andrew is a mystery. I can’t fathom why it’s pretty much went under the radar but I suppose it’s easier to put the focus on a bi-racial female with a voice of her own, than a would be paedophile.

Prince Willie is still a working Royal so Britain is saved. I hope he doesn't find his extra workload too taxing now that Harry is no longer a working Royal to support him. I'm still at a loss about what exactly he does for the millions that we pay him.

Mmmhhh, Meghan and Harry - she certainly is the boss in that relationship! She knew what she was doing when she said yes to his proposal, she knew that she would have to be a working Royal. IMO she has alienated him from his friends, now his family - something tells me that this will not end happy ever after, I hope it does, and if Princess Di was alive, I am sure she would have encouraged him to stay within the fold !

Yes Sarah, I agree, Charles should have been told if you want Camilla, the throne is not available. He is the longest and oldest 'king in waiting' , my perception on that is Her Majesty does not secretly like that Union. S he will not step down, until she takes her last breath, my hope is that she carries on, as I would not entertain a King of such stature of what he did to Diana, albeit Diana had lovers, good for her, whats good for the goose is good for the gander! I cannot stand it when he gets out of a car and wiggles those pink fingers in a little wave, it drives me in sane. I might have had a different outlook on him if he had treat Diana better and she was still alive and a Queen in waiting, what a Queen she would have made. LOL the quote thing does not work for me, and that is my opinion, everyone is allowed one!

It’s nice to see the Queen does support them regardless of whether she agrees with their decision to leave Royal life or not.
It's something that the media here rarely publish. They usually like to give the impression that they are hated and are outcasts but that seems to be very far from the truth. As Harry said in a recent interview with James Corden, he is less happy with the lies in the newspapers about him and Meghan than he is about some of the distortions in the TV series The Crown.

The recent news indicate a strong battle of "the firm" against Meghan and Harry. Very obvious the timing of publishing an E-Mail (from October 2018) about the alleged treatment of employees by Meghan through interested parts - a few days before the Oprah interview with them is broadcast. One really wonders why the world had to know that 2 (!) PA's left because of Meghan. If she's so terrible why just two people?

Are the other royals really independent or are the secretaries, representing the government, an invisible power? They didn't had much to tell about Andrew. Why do I get the feeling they act as if it's a royal Truman Show?

Harry and Meghan will not return to Royal Life

Can we have that in writing please, totally sick of this over publised, money hungry, publicy seeking and sold out for the big bucks couple = who want their cake and to eat it to - its all about them!

They want to have a quiet life so they appear on every US talk show going for a fat fee of course - oh the irony!

Its her greatest role so far as she was a B listed celeb that most people had never heard about, the fact that ONE - Yes 1 member of her family was present at her wedding speaks volumes about her yet its full of her fake/faux friends who quickly jumped on the coatails.

Good Riddence and dont haste ye back Harry when it all goes wrong as the British public arent as fickle as that

I used to think he was a great guy, i dont any longer - and for me I respect the Queen and the job she has devoted her life to and served her country well and I like Princess Anne, down to earth, hard working and just gets on with it =

Wills and Kate are beige, beige beige and dull, dull, dull and Im sorry that Wills and Harry are no longer close as they used to be and looked like they had a great relationship
She is alienated from her family, and now her husband looks as if he will be on the same path.
Also they bleat about being kind and wanting to do good, well she should look on her own doorstep and start with her father - who maybe isnt the brightest tool in the box and shouldnt have involved press pre wedding- but he is her father and you only get one dad and he isnt getting any younger. And he must be hurting inside.

I cannot stand it when he gets out of a car and wiggles those pink fingers
@Pammy P - i always think they look like a pound of links sausages,
Have no issues with Charlie boy, Not a Diana fan (the Katherine Wentworth of the Royals, nice to look at but scheming, mainipulative and a little kookie boo,)
Hes a bit like JR was, wife and mistress! to keep him happy

For Dallas now read Pallas, the new soap opera from USA and Buck House

This says it all for me

QUOTES I agree with

They're just two greedy pawns in a game that isn't remotely about "the truth" but about cash.

There's something horribly ugly about two of the most privileged people on the planet wallowing in a morass of self-pity and crying "poor us" in a year they've earned £120million, bought a mansion and announced they're expecting their second child.

It's fact that in 2018 emails were written about the appalling way Meghan and Harry treated staff. It's fact those emails claim Meghan had bullied two personal assistants, shattered the confidence of another and drove all three out of Kensington Palace.

Because what's clear now is that their new life, their capacity to make money and their relevance depend 100 percent on them exploiting their royal status and blabbing secrets.

But the very future of the House of Windsor is now at stake thanks to this vengeful pair, and the royals must fight tooth and nail to protect it. And if that means fighting dirty - so be it. Meghan and Harry are!

I applaud Harry and Meghan for breaking away from that toxic family and showing they can still support causes they believe in without being a drain on public finances.

Let the rest of the Royal Family do what Harry and Meghan are doing and become self funding and use the £350 million a year we currently pay for their privileged lifestyles to fund a decent pay increase for health and social care workers.

I did admire them for breaking away. Meghan was given a very tough time by the British press and the publication of the letters to her father was bang out of order. However, my view has changed since then. I’m tired of their continual obsession with being victims of the media but at the same time courting publicity and being paid handsomely for it when it suits. The pregnancy announcement photo was vomit inducing (ripped off from Notting Hill shamelessly) and I am sure that the Oprah interview will be equally awful in its self pity. If anything happens to Prince Philip in the immediate aftermath they will be finished with the British public too. The timing is just bad. As the Queen has always said- never complain and never explain. They should take a leaf out of her book :)

Personally, I think this is an appalling approach for the Royal Family because it what allows them to justify the silence of Prince Andrew and his alleged connection with paedophilia. These are people who are taking £350 million of taxpayers money each year so they should be made to explain.

The teasers for the interview with Harry and Meghan Meghan and Harry have made national UK headlines this week. On one occasion it was the top story. To me it seems a little wrong to validate such a crass show of self-promotion in this way. Report it afterwards, by all means. But it doesn't need further promotion ahead of time.

We all knew it was going to end here: with Meghan's trashy American remake of Diana's iconic, doe-eyed Panorama moment, right down to wardrobe colour and kohl-heavy eye makeup. Though Di didn't serve us Kardashian downward creak at the end of every sentence.
