It's possible that the Evil Queen is going to have the last laugh

In our relentless quest to become better people and to protect our oh-so-fragile children, another historical inaccuracy is being investigated as we speak.

I feel a tiny little titbit is being overlooked in the discussion: the story itself.
He's not A Prince he's THE Prince, the romance is an important part of the story and I think children will get it.

She's not really sleeping, she's trapped in a death-like sleep and that could go on for all eternity (as per the queen's evil spell) unless she's tenderly kissed by a handsome heir to the throne.
Gosh, decision decision.
I mean, FFS, even if she doesn't want to be kissed then at least she wants to be saved? And it was the only thing that could save her.
It's all very self-explanatory, regardless of how real or unreal the story is, and yet that anti-kiss nitwit in the video believes it doesn't belong in our modern society. You mean, like all those great summer hits? Also no longer part of our modern society.

Could this be Satan's work in disguise? Pretending to help us to improve our lives, but in reality squeezing the love and passion and creativity out of it? And if not Satan, then maybe alien infiltrators?
I dunno, there's something really funny going. I sense these things.
Or, as Melissa Sue Anderson said it to Linda Purl in DARK MANSIONS "You know about emotions, like Yvette".

The kiss in the film, is magical... It holds the power to save her life. It's something other worldly! It's not reality! Do children really need this explained to them? I mean it's animation, drawings on paper about a strange fictional kingdom with talking animals and wicked evil queens! We don't have to make everything so serious and suck the life and fun out of everything.

It's the parents job to make sure the child knows that it's a fairy tale, that what happens in it is not a reflection of reality.

Nope, the evil spell doesn't mention True Love's Jizz. But it sounds very modern.

And it was the only thing that could save her.

In all fairness, the prince wasn't aware of that. It was just pure lust love (stop confusing me, Snarky).

And how about Snow White doing all the cooking and cleaning? What a terribly patriarchal approach. Cut it!
Apples are dangerous. Wrong message, cut it!

Maybe I'm a sicko but I was only interested in the various murder plots and domestic abuse in these stories.

That's really the key, there. This wasn't some perv slipping his tongue to a lady taking a nap, he was saving her; analogous to CPR at that point.

I saw this story in the newspaper and thought it was ridiculous but this comment makes me think again. If the prince did this to wake Snow White people would be horrified at the lack of respect for her while in a comatosed state so maybe we should question whether it was appropriate for him to kiss her on the lips.

The kiss wasn't part of the original Grimm fairy tale and was change made by Disney for dramatic effect (in the original story a piece of the apple gets stuck in her throat and it becomes dislodged when one of the prince's servants moves her coffin).

It all depends on what the queen's magic cookbook stipulates as the one and only antidote. It's not a kiss for the heck of it, it's part of the plot since the queen assumes that the dwarfs will bury her (alive! so much nastier than real death) before anyone has the chance to kiss her.
This predicament is clearly explained when the queen is preparing the poisoned apple, and the same goes for the good fairy's antidote spell that can save Princess Aurora.
And that's why the naysayers should consider themselves lucky that these princes were sensible enough to kiss their respective princesses back to life, rather than face-jizzing them over and over and over again.
But if the cookbook mention Love's First Jizz than the kiss doesn't work, the prince leaves heartbroken and Snow White will be buried alive - without consent.

Since children lack the adult interpretation of the kiss I wonder what it is they need to be sheltered from.
Sure, some of these kids will grow up to be murderers, rapers, spree-killers, you name it. But these people are psychopaths and even the most perfect parenting won't stop them.
Somehow, somewhere, someday they will find the inspiration to carry out their evil deeds.

I'm not against updating our standards if it proves to be necessary, but I wonder if the cancel culture has become sort of a drug i.e. the power to change things.
Or is it to compensate for their insecurity as a parent because they're never "there".
"But I do care! See? I'm doing interviews and social media petitions about stuff that will make my child a better person".
My mother never had to do that, she was just there when I needed her.

Furthermore, parenting isn't only about protection, it's also dealing with situations.
Don't touch the hot radiator. But of course the child has to touch it, it needs to understand what the warning is all about.
There will be tears and bruises but that's part of growing up.

Hate to say it, but this isn't going to work.

Not in this movie. Here they only whistle and clean. Maybe it´s birdxploitation too? Should PETA complain here?

Maybe she was workaholic and would have killed the dwarfs if she couldn´t have done the cleaning. Anyway, I´m sure that house stank terribly. It was a matter of survival to her...
