John Ross is waken in bed by Mateo. Pamela stirs and he tells her to go back to sleep.

The two meet in his study in the wee hours of the morning. Mateo says, "It was one of Chris's methane rigs."

"Damn, I warned him not to go there. He's lined up Calco to buy the methane and has car companies looking to buy the rights to his engine patterns. He's moving a head to benefit himself and to hell with the rest of us."

"I've got a close eye on him."

"Anyone hurt?"

"No."

"Any environmental concerns?"

"Not a one."

"And Chris?"

"He's already headed down to Galveston with Milly to try and handle the fall out."

"The two of them better he it right."

Chris and Milly sit on a private plan flying over the state of Texas. Milly gets up off the floor and sets next to him as he pulls his pants back up.

At breakfast all the talk is about the rig explosion. Beau's certain it'll cost him the election. Emily says she wishes he'd just give up this stupid methane obsession. Lucy agrees.

John Ross walks Pamela to her car after breakfast. She says, "Who are you going to blame the explosion on?"

"The Russians. They've made three attempts."

"Then why didn't you just let them blow I up?"

"I couldn't predict the fall out, casualties or the environment. Not to mention the political fall out between the two if they actually did it. This way there's just speculation."

She kisses him. "Try and have a good day."

"You too." He sways her butt.

She smirks at him. I've been thinking. With Steven doing better. Maybe we should start working on that next child. I mean if you're up to it."

"Darlin' we can start right now if you'd like."

"This evening. I like to take my time when I'm with you."

"Anything worth having is worth going for - all the way." He sways her in the butt as she gets into the car. He waves at her as she drives away.

John Ross takes out his phone and makes a call. "Hey Brick. It's John Ross . . . Yeah, how ya doin'? . . . Sweet . . . Listen I was calling about Ronaldo Baxter . . . Yeah that's him. Chairman of Trident now . . . I know right . . . Hay if I stole her she wasn't his girl in the first place . . . Well no his momma was a different story. That was wrong . . . Listen we need to meet to discuss that little termite . . . Atlanta, sure, I'll be there. Lunch sounds great. Text me the details . . . You betcha."

Some goons unlock the door, walk into Chris's condo and start tearing the place apart.

Julie comes out of the bathroom screaming. One of the guys grabs her up and covers her mouth with a cloth. She fights him. Eventually she passes out.

They continue their search until they find the box with red files and then leave, taking it with them.

Down in the lobby the men step off the elevator and meet up with Mateo walking out of her building.

John Ross works on shoeing a horse with the boys working on chores in the barn when Liam walks in. "I've got the papers for you to sign."

"Great. You've got it all."

"Every last dime that Rebecca owes. She's actually into negative equity I'm guessing."

"How's there talks with Trident going?"

"Not so well. Other than the special voting rights he's working on, the deal's a good one, but Baxter isn't budging."

"Well than, I'll have to budge him." John Ross pries the old shoe off. "You see that boys. Little leverage. I told you about that. Big enough lever you can move the world."

"I'm not understanding. Why do you want this to happen again?"

"I've got control of Andrew and Ava's shares. Rebecca shouldn't be a problem. Better to keep your father corralled than caged. Big enough coral he'll think he's free."

Rebecca walks in through the front door of the Wendell mansion and then turns into the living room, startled to see David and Dia.

"Well hello sweetheart. Your friend her stopped by so we could have a talk."

"My friend? OK. What about?"

"He showed me his control of my sister's shared in Tusk. He also shared with my his father can get us nearly ten percent of the votes in Trident."

"Did he?"

"Well that's nice of him."

"Yes and maybe more if he were to round up some friends."

"Well that's good. And of course he likes our having a special voting class of stock in the new company."

"Perfect."

"I've called in a few markers myself so we might be ready to pounce."

"Well good. Very good."

"Now I also told your friend I'm well aware of your relationship. See I figured once we got married I better know a lot more about you. Seems you've known each other since school in Switzerland."

"We have."

"Yes. He's explained to me how he didn't mean any disrespect to me by sleeping with you. You've been at it a very long time." She goes to speak and he cuts her off, "I explained to him we didn't have that kind of marriage and he was free to enjoy himself."

"Well how kind of you."

"I just asked to be able to watch now and again."

"What? No. Listen here David."

Dia approaches her, pulling his shirt off. "It's OK baby. I don't mind an audience."

"Listen to me Dia."

He cuts her off, "No I'm done listening to you." He takes off his pants. "About time you just shut up and do as your told."

David grabs Dia's white cloth covered ass. "Yes sweetheart. Do as your told."

Beau sits with John Ross in the hole in the wall bar for lunch. "Yes they tell me I'm so far down in the polls now they don't have any hopes, unless we get a miracle."

"The idea that the rig was tampered with hasn't helped?"

"Not in her slightest."

"Alright. There's no proof but we've got some concern it was Russian sabotage to keep the price of gas up. We'll get that rumor out there. Be prepared for it. Make sure the voters know this is a case of the enemy tampering with the election. See if that doesn't help."

"Hell yea. That should be the miracle we're looking for."

"So, how you and Milly doing?"

"Not. Bad I suppose. We're talking about having another kid. We'd like to have just two."

"That's good. It's just I never got the impression things were all that great between the two of you."

"No we're fine."

"It's just, well, I make it my business to know stuff. You know what I mean?"

"No. Like what?"

"Like you're banging two college interns on your campaign staff."

"I'm cautious."

"That gets out you're gonna have all sorts of issues."

"Listen John Ross. I appreciate the concern but we don't have a marriage like that. There's no concern. And politically, I get caught, I'll call up a preacher and ask for help with my sex addiction."

John Ross laughs, grabs his shoulder and says, "Just as long as you got it covered." He squeezes his shoulder super tight.

"Ronaldo. Come in," Pamela says welcoming him. "Thank you for meeting with me. Please sit." The two sit on sofas facing each other.

"You have a lovely office."

"Thank. Listen. I'll jump right into the reason for this meeting. You own some solar panel farms. Three of them. You picket them up when you bought the GB Group. Great move by the way. I want them."

"Well I'm sure we can work out a deal."

"Well we can. A very beneficial deal for me. See I hear you're going to be having to dump a lot of assets quick to shore up your balance sheet. You've been over stating the value of your oil reserves. I want in before all this goes down. In fact there are a few other pieces I'd like to discuss as well."

"What makes you think I'd start panicking over such a thing."

"Oh I know you will. Once these is out your stock price will be in a free fall. And Wendell is gunning for you."

"Event still, what do I get out of giving you a head start?"

"My word to remain silent."

"About what?"

Pamela throws him a thick packet full of printed emails. "You whipped everything clean. And almost in time not to get caught. Employees in this emails have vanished with out a trace. Not to prevent this leak, cause by this point you knew it was too late, but to buy you time. Add to that various law suits you've kept off the books, one might even say you cooked the books. Like, um, creative accounting."

"You're playing a dangerous game Mrs. Ewing."

"Am I? Well you'd need to find a place you can hide, some place in this world, if you think you could get away from the consequence of your insinuation. You're aware of what happened to Mr. Sechin?"

"I'm well aware."

"And as I offer to do you a favor, you've still got the balls to think there's such a place to hide. How about we just end this meeting." Pamela stands. "You go get on that plan and fly off to that place."

Liam has lunch with Emily. Liam talks about there sister in London and her husband putting together a deal to invest in Trident and how the share price is climbing into record territory. He mentions another sister's in-laws in Singapore making some heavy investments and how their father is leveraging every family member and friend and political marker to make a play for Trident.

Seems like David Wendell is quite the perv, enjoying to watch his wife going at it with another man.

So Beau is having some fun with his college interns, sounds like he's made to be a politician!
I liked John Ross' talk with him one brother to another.

How many kids are John Ross and Pamela Rebecca planning on having?

David Wendell is a kinda messed up dude.

Beau has only just begun his political career.

Idk. I don't think they're planning. They're thinking in old farm family terms. Lol. What do you think? Stop at 3? More? Keep trying for a girl?

Well I think they have three kids now and since you wrote in the last update that they wanted another child I think it sounds like they will keep trying for a girl. But considering the fact that Pamela comes across as a modern woman who is focused on career etc. I don't really see her as a the mother of 10 kids.

Lol - true. She's busy running an empire but John Ross is a stay at home dad. He might do well with 10. Lol

lol yeah John Ross might do fine with his own football team of kids. But I doubt Pamela would be so willing to be pregnant all the time as it does take a toll on a woman's body.

Chris stands behind a podium with Milly to his right and facing a group of reporters. "I've heard the rumor as well, and certainly over the last few years we've all heard of either Russian or Chinese sources of cyber attacks, but I don't act on speculation. I need cold hard facts. All I have right now is that Ewing Oil is not responsible for the explosion and we did everything to make sure all our people and the ocean was safe. I've spoken to our security team, we out source security with BranchWater. We need to up security to do more than consider these sorts of attacks as possible but eminent. I would suggest all oil companies take heed. I doubt we are the only target."

David signs some papers with Rebecca and Ronaldo among others sitting at a board room table in Zurich, Switzerland. He slides them across the table. The man takes them and looks at David, "I'm very sorry about your grandfather. Mr. Patiño was a very good man."

"To bad the same can't be said for his grandfather," David declares.

"I'll take care of these. You'll probably want to meet with the board of Patiño Göring before you leave as you now control your family's twenty percent ownership in the company with its sixty percent vote."

"Most defiantly." The lawyer leaves the room and David turns to another man saying, "I want you in charge of Patiño Göring. Your first order of business is to line up institutional investors in Trident and get me as many shares as possible. With the price so low they should all be in an agreeable mood to sell and get out from under the company." He then looks at Ronaldo, "And I want you to prepare the merger of Trident and Tusk."

"You mean Trident's acquisition of Tusk."

"No I don't. A merger. I also want you to look into Benicia. Patiño Göring is a substantial investor in Benicia. You put those three oil interests together, that's north of two hundred ninety in revenue. That's huge. I want the new stock scheme worked out so this time I'm firmly in control."

"I'll see what I can do."

"If you can't, I'll look for someone who can. I've got meetings with OPEC and Venezuela in particular this week in Vienna. I don't have time to micromanage. Either you do what I want or you leave."

"I can arrange water ever you need."

"Good. I want Patiño Göring's shares in Trident to have a special voting class. Not Ava or Andrews shares. Their shares need to be just standard stock in the company. I'm not dealing with them as I did before. They've also got shares in Patiño Göring but my grandfathers will gives me control of those shares, so I don't have to worry about them either way."

Rebecca says, "Sounds like you r got this all mapped out."

"I do. We'll leave here next week and meet with several Chinese officials in Beijing. I plan on discussing projects involving their giant government owned oil companies, projects I'd been putting together for CalcoHarwood."

Chris walks into South Fork's living room yelling, "How the hell is David Wendell back on top!"

Lucy says to him, "Don't come in here talking business."

Staring down John Ross he says, "And what's your sister got to do with this?"

"You'd better listen to Lucy," he responds.

"Oh come on, we know what's next. He's coming gunning for us. Goliath is back."

Beau says, "Don't be so dramatic. How many dam times is this family going to fight your father-in-law? Davids always been the top of oil industry. You can push methane all you want, but oil is still king."

"Listen, when we need a lesson on the oil industry we'll ask someone with a bit more intelligence then some half wit's bastard. Stick politics where every good family sticks its stupid people."

Beau goes to physically attach Chris, who stands his ground. John Ross comes between the two pushing Beau back, ordering him to stand down.

Chris says, "There you go proving' you got the intelligence of a termite."

Chris pushing past John Ross punches Chris in the jaw. Chris stumbles back in his car. John Ross shoves Beau back and against the fire place, "You better check yourself in this house brother!"

"I'm not gonna stand around and put up with that mouth of his!"

Turning Beau around and shoving him out the door next to the fire place he says, "Just watch your temper."

Lucy tells Chris he's an ass.

Emily says, "My husband might be crude about his he puts things but he's right. JR and Bobby never took care of my Grandfather. He'd always been pulling levers behind the scenes, using front men like Carter McKay. And you better believe so has my father because there's one thing they both have always wanted to see, and that's this family suffer."

"Why?" Lucy asks.

Milly stares, "That's most of Texas. The Wendell's are anyone special in that regard."

John Ross re-enters the room and pointing atChris says, "And watch your mouth in this house. You hear me."

"Tell 'me John Ross. Tell them the truth about Jeremy Wendell and why Davids after us. Why Jeremy hated the Ewings. It wasn't just business."

"That's enough Chris."

Lucy says, "No. If there's something we don't know and should know let's hear it."

John Ross gives Chris a dirty look before saying, "Jeremy's father came from out east to try his hand at wildcatting. Grandpa and some of his friends in the cartel swindled him. He lost everything and committed suicide." The room gasps. "For Jeremy the feud was personal, not business. Though he was never gonna admit it."

"I didn't know that about my grandpa's dad," Emily says.

"No I doubt any one would. Jeremy Wendell apparently kept that a closely guarded secret. My father didn't know, not until he was in the home. He got word that Jeremy was quietly assembling shares in West Star. And not a few but control, especially once Holly Harwood died. And under pretty suspicious circumstances. JR dug up everything about Jeremy Wendell and then bided his time. When he ran out of time he left it to me to see to handle."

"Does my dad know?"

"I don't know. As you know your father and I have our own personal issues, but since Jock bankrupted your grandfather, and JR and Wendell spent a life time fighting, and then David and I have had our issues, I don't think it much matters. Chris is right, father is coming after us. Beau's just mad because it looks like the methane explosion cost him the election as the campaign does seem to be able to spin it in his favor, but you never know with politics."

Milly asks, "So what are we talking about? David Wendell is what? On the board of Trident? And he's putting together some mega merger. And he'll use that to come after this family."

Chris says, "There are people that have reasons, business and personal to see us fail. People David Wendell's worked with, Sechin and Long. People that have no problem hitting this family. Hell they nearly killed us if you remember."

"Long? Dia?" Lucy asks.

"He was well aware of Sechin's hit on us, wasn't he John Ross?" Chris throws out.

"Yes, but I've dealt with him."

"Dealt with him," Lucy says.

"Yes dealt with him."

"He's married to David's sister. That's how cozy they are," Chris informs the family.

"So I've heard," Lucy states.

"Listen I got Sechin sent home and they dealt with him. I handled Long Dia. And I'll handle David Wendell."

Emily asks, "What did happen to that Russia guy when he went back home?"

"They killed him," John Ross states bluntly.

Lucy says, "So then there are other enemies out there then. This guys family."

"No. There's no connection to us. They dealt with him like they deal with all their enemies. He was their problem at that point. Not ours."

Lucy sits down exhausted. "This family never stops making enemies."

At the bar in the Rec House Beau tosses back several shots of Bourbon. John Ross comes in and slaps his back. "Wound up pretty tight."

"If I loose the election I'm gonna divorce Milly."

"OK. That's your call. What about the baby?"

"I don't know. Maybe I'll fight for custody."

"I'm here for you, you know that, right?"

"Thanks John Ross."

David meets with Milly in his new, big office with a commanding view of Dallas. "I want you back on my team."

She laughs, "Haven't you heard, I'm a Ewing."

"You're what ever you need to be. You're game is power and influence."

"What do you have to offer?"

"I'm putting together a hostile take over of CalcoHarwood. Trident will be a four hundred twenty billion dollar super giant, actually competing with the Chinese government back big oil companies."

"Knowing you, you've got a hand in one or two."

"I'm not asking you to dump your husband. Having a big strapping state senator on my team wouldn't be such a bad thing either."

"I seriously doubt he'd give you the time of day."

"I can be persuasive." He turns around his lap top and shows her a video of Beau in bed with two young girls. He points to one. "She laughs particularly attractive."

The family gathers in a hotel banquet room along with a thousand volunteers when word comes in the Beau had won. He hugs his brother and then Christopher, congratulations all around and calls for a speech.

Watching him speak to the crowd Milly says to John Ross, "Pretty good to own a State Senator."

"I wouldn't say I own him," he replies without looking at her.

"Of course you do. Please don't think I'm as naive as your brother and Christopher. I know what you're capable of. I know why Mateo's around and Liam."

"Oh do you."

"It's hot to watch a man wield so much power. I'd do anything for you. Any thing to submit to that kind of power."

"I bet you would."

A simi-truck pulls up in front of the Wendell mansion.

Movers take boxes and furniture out if the truck and carry them into the house.

In the entry Rebecca and Dia watch them. She asks, "Do you like your room?"

"Not as big as yours but it'll do."

"David says he's making you the Vice Chairman Trident's board."

"Yes. He says he's creating David and Rebecca Wendell Foundation for you to oversee."

"I'm not sure if we own him or he owns us."

Pamela walks up from the driveway to the back of the house as Milly walks up out of the pool. She says, "Pamela, you're home easily."

Pamela looks at her soaking wet in a string bikini. "I guess you are too."

She approaches Pamela, "Took a half day. You want to go for a swim?"

"No thank you."

"I bet your pretty hot in a bikini."

Pamela looks up and down her with disgust. "You should cover up. The sun will ruin your skin in the long run."

"I'm not playing a long term game."

"Obviously."

David walks into a hotel suite where a young couple sits waiting for him. He hands them a thick envelope. The look through it, full of cash. He says, "I'm celebrating. My company just accounted its merging with CalcoHarwood." He pours himself a large bourbon and then turns around to watch them drawing lines of coke, leaning forward to sniff each one.

David, a bit drunk, reaches over to fondle the beautiful and near oding girl. He then grabs the ass of the young boy and says, "I paid for this." He then puts both hands around his throat and begins to squeeze. "And this."

Late at night Chris stands at his desk, not looking so good, a bit pale and pain stricken. Holding onto his desk he walks around and then grabs his chest and falls to his knees.

The lights on the back patio gives a slight glow to the pool area where Milly is found floating face down.

John Ross turns from the barn yard and watching the horses late at night and walks into the stables. Noticing someone he says, "Who's there? . . . . . . . What hell are you doing here? . . . . . . . " Then taking a pistol from his holster he shoot the person in front of him. Their body falling to the dirt and straw covered floor.

The laughs on the back patio gives a slight glow to the pool area where Milly is found floating face down.

Sorry that should say the lights on the back patio but it was too late to edit.

This was hilarious until I got to the part with Milly laying in the pool. Then it stopped being funny. But great dialogue!

I liked the backstory of the fued with the Wendells too. Seems like JR still runs their lives even from the other side of the grave.

I liked seeing Lucy back again and so typical of John Ross and Chris to fight.

Who would have thought it, Cally's son a US Senator? ;)
I guess having a baby with JR made that son successful. I mean if she hadn't met JR I guess her child would have ended up running the family farm back in Haleyville.

A Cliffhanger too. I wonder if Chris was poisoned...

This is true but could you tell him no?

After four kids, probably yes. ;)

Glad you like it. Poor Milly. This Lee's should know better than to even hang around the Ewings.

Yes the Wendell's are the new fued because well the Barnes grandchildren are all Ewings now. And yes JR should never go away just like Jock never went away for JR.

Yes he's on his way up the later. John Ross has even bigger plans for his war hero brother.

Ummmmmm - tradgey strikes all 3 boy in different ways, Chris directly, Beau's wife and John Ross and commiting murder. What happened to Chris indeed? Where do they go with Millys fait? And can a man as wealth as John Ross have to worry about murdering someone?

OK after 4 she might stop. Especially if they have a girl. And well three pregnancies isn't so bad. But how about just one more? I so like odd numbers and 5 would be be so good. Not to mention two cousins with Jordan and Jeremy.

Mateo walks into John Ross's study and says, "Everything's taken care of?"

"How the hell did someone get on the ranch?"

"You know as well as I do, no security net is flawless. The important thing is we locked down Pamela and the boys right away."

"And what the hell was Milly doing here in the middle of the night?"

"I don't know."

"Before Pamela and the boys come back to the ranch, I want answers."

"Of course."

"I called Lucy. She on her way back from New York. We'll put her up in one of the condos too."

"I'll figure it out."

"I'm headed up to the hospital. Keep me posted."

John Ross walks into a hospital room where Chris lies connected to all sorts of monitors with all sorts of wires.

SUVs pull up in front of a large rustic cabin surrounded by by miles of shown.

Ewing farm in Alberta see: http://www.sothebysrealty.com/eng/s...-ehff5k/kestrel-ridge-farm-calgary-ab-t3z-3l4

Inside the entry hall Barbara and Ellis carry boxes through. The kid's au pair ushers the boys up stairs and to their room. Lucy walks in carrying baby Jordan following after them. Emily scoots Jeremy up next.

When finally alone Pamela turns to John Ross and says, "I don't like being tucked away up here for safe keeping."

"I know you don't," he says caressing her arms.

"I've got a business to run and leaving Dallas with my tail between my legs isn't my idea of showing strength."

"I'm not taking any chances."

"John Ross."

"Listen to me Pamela. You're going to stay put. This place is locked down tighter than Area 51."

"I'm not a doll you're gonna buy on a shelf."

"Yes you are darlin'. I know you know business. I know you're tough. I got no fear that someone come in here you'll blow 'me away. One by one. But I'm going to protect you." He puts his hands on her stomach. "You got no choice in that."

A team of forensic investigators go over ever in of Chris's office.

John Ross sits and watches static on a video screen in a security control room.

Behind him Mateo says, "We can't prove it but there is a puncture mark from a needle on his arm. And this video footage being erased confirms some one didn't want us to see what happened." He then pulls up a video of the lobby. "And this girl getting on the elevator is Julie, your uncle's secretary Chris has put up in a company condo. She's the one that called nine one one and went in the ambulance with him."

"He's damn lucky he called her to come over when he did."

"We found traces of a chemical used to anesthetize cows because we were looking for it."

"Why would you look for something like that?"

"Because I didn't believe he just happen to have a heart attack."

"What do you think happened?"

"Milly was the last one leave this office. Yet she turns up dead not long after in your pool. No one got up here without getting passed all the other camera in the building."

"So Milly tried to kill Chris by making it look like a heart attack."

"It's the only explanation."

"Why?"

"The man you shot had a USB drive on him with copies of the red files."

"You suspected Chris would have a back up."

"Emily was in Detroit, something to do with a foundation grant. Jordan was in the house with your boys. Perfect time to go through his cottage and get what you want."

"If you know it's there."

"We know Chris was sleeping with Milly."

"So kill Chris so you can keep his red files and no one would know you had them."

"And the man I shot?"

"Bolivian. I'm going to guess I keep digging we'll trace him to Ronaldo. One of my guys documented a few meetings between her an Ronaldo. I think we can guess he double crossed Milly and killed her. Using the same anesthetic as was used with Chris and then laying her face down in the pool."

"So no one suspected her because she has access to the property but thus second person."

"No one gets in or off South Fork or any of the adjoining properties with out me knowing. His mistake was leaving her to die here."

"And you're sure Ronaldo."

"No. Sophia Wendell's from Bolivia. Could be the Wendell's. She meet with them often enough as well. I'm following up on every thing."

"Good. The police are calling it an accident. They think she came over for a late night swim and some drugs and passed out in the pool. They wanted to question the family but I told them I was the only one home. I turned her body over to the Lee's for burial."

"Where's Beau?"

"He's in the house. They questioned him. He admitted she did a few recreational drugs."

"I gave you list some time ago. Mostly muscle relaxers and opioids and only occasionally."

"Did they find any in her system?"

"The police? Traces."

John Ross and Mateo walk out of his study to find Beau watching tv in the family room. "How you doin'?" he asks his brother.

"I'm alright."

"Why don't you head up to Alberta. The police said you're free to go."

"The funeral's tomorrow. I should at least show up."

"Lucy says Jordan's missing you. Right after the funeral, you should head up."

"I've got work to do."

"I'm sure people will understand. Your wife just died."

"That's alright."

"I talked to Pamela. We think you and Jordan should move in here."

"What? Why?"

"Your job's gonna have you down in Austin a lot. And Lucy already said she'll help out with Jordan. Could ask for a better surrogate mother."

"Certainly a hell of a lot better than the one he had."

"Mateo here will arrange to have your stuff brought over."

"Thank you John Ross."

"Of course."

John Ross stands by his father's grave side. "Well, got rid of that Lee girl. You were right. Give a person enough rope, they'll hang 'em self. I know you wouldn't approve of sharing Ewing Oil and South Fork, but it's working out. And now that Lucy has Jordan to take care of I'm sure one day he'll get her half of the house and her third of the company. Now my issue is how to get my boys to get alone. I'm hoping one will be interested in the ranch and another in the company. Then there's plenty of money to go around. And I know you would approve of Emily, but I like her. She fits Chris, flaws and all. Any way, I could use your advice on dealing with Ronaldo. Yeah, yeah, I know. I know what I have to do. It just would be nice to hear from you."

John Ross walks down the hospital corridor and runs into Julie walking out of Chris's room. "Excuse me. You're Julie, right?"

"Yes."

"How is he?"

"Cranky."

"Always has been. Thank you for saving his life."

"If only that made up for things."

"Made up for what? Chris made at you about something?"

"I lost something of his."

"The red files? No you didn't loose something of his. It belong to Jock Ewing and JR after him. And now to me. He's got no right to be upset with you. He'll really be up set when he finds out his USB drive missing."

"What do you mean."

"Never mind."

"The stress of running that company is going to kill him. He's hell bent on bring down David Wendell and get his methane gas to market."

"Yea he's been selling his technology to car companies. Lone Star bought him out of Faraday. I can attest to the money he wants for that methane engine of his. I wish he'd just stick with the engineering stuff. He's good at it. You know he's getting more oil out of that rig in the gulf than any estimates."

"He wants to prove himself in business too."

"Chris has always wanted to prove himself."

"He almost died." Julie tears up.

"Yea. You know he might not except it, but he's always been my best friend."

Unable to restrain herself she hugs John Ross and holds him tight.

Pamela watches the boys play. Jack directs them and they all follow his lead. He places Jordan on the floor among them. They ready for battle, a war against an army of stuff animals. Steve rides a stick horse. Mitch sticks close to Jack. They use their fingers to shoot. Jeremy hiding behind Jack.

John Ross attempts to show the boys his to fly fishes in a gentle river not far from the house.

Looking at the sun setting behind the Canadian Rockies, John Ross cuddles with Pamela in font of a camp fire.

John Ross pulls himself out if the indoor pool in the dusky morning hours. Pamela hands him a towel. "Do we have to go home?"

"We don't ever have to do anything. But I think it's time. All I've got left to do is handle Ronaldo."

"Yeah I guess I e got a lot of work to do. Say, why don't we come back to go skiing? I here there's a beautiful resort close by."

"Sure. I just thought you'd like some place warm for the winter."

"How about we do both?"

"Sounds like a great idea." He takes her in his arms and they kiss.

In his study at South Fork John Ross signs a paper and while handing it to Pamela says, "This one sells Lone Star my share of Ewing Oil." He signs another. "Half the ranch." Signing and handing her yet another, "AmHoldings." And another. "Branchwater. They're yours to manage. And one day I hope our children will all get along and not fight over this stuff."

"You're sure?"

"I'm sure. Retirement's pretty good."

"It does seem to suit you."

"I was thinking of buying an island in the the US Virgin Islands. I came across it. It's tropical with blue water and soft sandy beaches and a small subsistence farm I'd like to expand just a bit for local cattle."

"Are you serious? Why?"

"Yes. In high school I use to spend all summer in a sailing school in the Caribbean. I want our children to experience some of that."

"Well if it's what you want." She kisses John Ross's lips, softly. "I hear that David's pretty much looted Patiño Göring in order to take control of Trident."

"Ronaldo Baxter's still the Chairman and CEO?"

"Yes. Neither can be happy about me on the board but I come with their take over of CalcoHarwood. They're putting together another bid to take over the rest of Calco and bring it back into the company and selling their chemical operations to CalcoSino, which they're raining half interest in."

"Long Dia's on the board of Trident and Sino?"

"Yes. And Yau Tei."

"The Long's might run Yau Tei but we're still firmly in control, right?"

"No question. Just like the Wendell's might have a large investment in Trident but with all the Ewing's, including Lone Star, we've held onto twelve perfect. Roughly the same for Yau Tei. The issue now is this special voting class of David's shares. Yau Tei and Lone Star have gone about challenging him in court; several large institutional investors have joined us."

"Keep up the good work."

Pamela laughs. She then looks him over and says, "You really are special. You know it?"

"Are you talking about being dyslexic," John Ross says with a grin.

"No I'm not. I'm talking about you caring about your family. We're all luck to have you."

"Thank you. Speaking of such, Emily, do you think her and Chris are OK?"

"What do you mean?"

"They don't have a very traditional marriage. But she is a Ewing, isn't she?"

"No they don't, and yes she is. Chris loves her and she loves him. They might not be traditional, but it's not toxic like your mom and dad, if that's what you're asking."

"I guess it is."

"It's OK. We're going to be just fine. Beau's living her now with Jared. Chris seems happier then ever. And yes Emily is family. I have no doubt she'd put this family before the Wendell's. The only Wendell she care about was Liam and you gave him a job. The rest of her half siblings annoy her. She's right where she belongs."

"Ironic, isn't it? My father went to was with Aunt Pam and here Emily, she just blends in like she's been here all this time."

"He'd have gone to war with all of us, Emily, me, Milly. Certainly Rebecca marrying David."

John Ross takes a letter out of his desk and says, "I got this the other day." He then begins to read, "Dear John Ross, I know your life don't turn out like I have planned, just know I only ask that your happy and healthy. I've always been proud of you. You were always stronger than me. You'd stand up to me and your mom. And if we were ever going to love you we had to prove it. We deserved it. Just don't hurt your children the way we hurt you. And don't pit them against each other the way my parents did. So, one last task, leave them better off then I left you. Love always, your very proud father."

"That's very sweet."

"I don't know how many of these he wrote. Or when the last one will show up. I figure Bum sends them for him. They were both a couple of messed up individuals."

"Do you ever see Bum anymore?"

"No. I keep thinking I should. And then something comes up."

Pamela leans over and hugs him.

In a hotel room Lucy cuddles in bed with Dia and says, "I can't tell you how happy I am that John Ross and you are getting along."

"I don't know if people do much getting along with John Ross as they work for him."

"I thought you work for your father's company."

"Thing's aren't as they appear. Lone Star and his sister, Rebecca Wentworth, and friend, Don Lockwood, control the board of Yau Tei. Just like they're trying to do with Trident."

"I thought David Wendell controls Trident. It's all over the news how he's come back and is taking over CalcoHarwood. They're calling him the Colossus of Dallas."

"An illusion I assure you."

Running her hand down his body and under the sheet she grabs up his cock and says, "You're the expert." He moans. "It must be interesting living in that house. Why are you anyway?"

"To keep an eye on David and Rebecca. I told you, we all work for John Ross."

Massaging is manhood she declares, "I certainly don't."

"You think you don't, but you do. Trust me, he's got you right where he wants you."

Squeezing she says, "I don't think so."

Limousines and ultra luxury cars parade down the rolling hills and winding streets of the Preston Hallow Estates neighborhood of Dallas passing grand entrances and large lots before pulling into the motor-court of the Wendell mansion.

The Ewing's get out of one of the limousines, Lucy and Mateo, Emily and Chris, John Ross and Pamela, Beau and a new young beauty. They walk in through the front door where Rebecca greats then and introduces them to the people around her as her brothers, cousins and their friends and wives. "Of and David's daughter, Emily." She hugs her.

Emily asks, "Is Liam here yet."

"No. I've been keeping an eye out for him. Not yet."

John Ross and Pamela sit out on the loggia looking out at the manicured back yard when Chris sits down with them saying, "Have we stayed long enough?"

Pamela asks, "Where's Emily?"

"She's showing an old friend the house. Hey is that Liam talking to Ronaldo Baxter?"

John Ross answers, "Yes."

"You sure you know what you're doing putting a Wendell on the pay roll."

"You married one," Pamela says.

John Ross chuckles.

"Now let me get this straight, we're here to celebrate Rebecca marrying David Wendell, though they've been married for months now. And they live here with Dia Long, who's married to Ava Wendell but Ava's been in Europe this whole time."

"That's about it," Pamela confirms.

Ronaldo says to Liam, "I hope your father does loose in court. I'm not all that thrilled dealing with him over my shoulder. Of course you realize his plan is to use Dia to break up Yau Tei. If he can get their shares dispersed on the market, he'll have one less worry. And of course with Yau Tei gone the court case weakens."

"My father's long goal is to shore up control of Trident. Which is why he gave up so much stock, to gain voting power. It's not money he's after. It power. Once he's secure with Trident he'll go after the Ewing's."

"So you'd better choose your side carefully."

"Make no mistake, I have."

David hands Dai a drink while looking at Liam and Ronaldo through a window. "Are you sure you can trust your son?"

"I never said trust. I don't trust anyone. Not you or my wife. Certainly not my sister or brothers or even my mother. But I'll bring Liam around. Being John Ross Ewing's errand boy only has a sort life span."

"And Ronaldo?"

"He's got to be reined in. He's hoping you succeed in your little court stint with the Ewing's."

"I hope I succeed in court with the Ewing's"

"I'm sure yo do. No Ronaldo needs to be taught he's been bought and paid for by me. He's not the free man he thinks he is. Playing both sides of the fence."

"I guess we'll see."

Emily pulls a young member of the catering staff down on top of her, down onto the bed as they kiss. Her hands play with his hair. His hand reaches up her dress.

Lucy sits in the living room wondering where the time went that she ends up hanging out with old crows of Dallas. They all laugh drinking campaign.

Mateo approaches her and says, "John Ross want to know if you're ready to go."

"Oh thank heaven. They've start to talk recipes."

Liam looks over a tropical property on the beautiful blue waters of the Caribbean. He says to the man showing him the house, "The concern is the average and the small cattle farm. I'll need to look over its financial capabilities. But if that's a go, then we've got a deal."

"I'm sure your boss will be more than please with what you find, not only profitable, but in the right hands, expandable."

David stands in a hotel room with Ronaldo and a young man. He says, "I explained to you how things work but apparently you just won't listen. So now I'm going to have to show you that I own you. This is Sean. I've paid for him for the night. You're going to take your clothes off and Sean her is going to teach you what I mean by own."

"You're out of your mind. I'm not doing anything with you or with him."

David laughs, "I'm just here to watch. Sean here's the professional."

"I'm leaving. You're sick."

"Walk out that door and you and I both know what happens next."

"Come on David. I've gone along with your scheme. You're merging Trident and CalcoHarwood. I'm not doing this."

"Yes you are." David sits down and looks at his watch. "And you've got exactly three minutes to begin."

"Please David. I'll do what ever you want. Just not this."

"Two and a half minutes."

"My god David you're sick you know it."

"Two minutes. What you really have to ask yourself is when I say time's up will it be too late?"

On his knees he begs, "Come on David. Don't do this. This is just business. You know I've got your back."

"One minute."

"Jesus Christ. Come on."

"Thirty seconds."

Ronaldo jumps to his feet and brings tearing off his clothes.

Sean smiles and starts to undress.

David watches.

Liam meets in his office with Long Dia. "Please sit. John Ross wanted us to discuss control of Aunt Ava's shared in Trident. These papers turn over the management of that investment to AmHoldings. I've already spoken to Uncle Andrew. And the rest of the Ewing family, except for Rebecca have turned over the management of their shares. AmHoldings has contacted a professor at Stanford, on of my old professors actually. He'll be representing these shares in the board. I'm told Yau Tei intends to keep you on the board representing them."

"That's what John Ross wants."

"And Pamela will represent Lone Star."

"The problem is, if you don't break David's special voting stock, you'll never get control of Trident. And I can guarantee you his next move is to break up Yau Tei."

"That's exactly what I told John Ross. Worse case scenario is the break up leaves more shares of Trident directly in Ewing hands, which'll get turned over to AmHoldimgs. But John Ross is confident he can block any move of my father's. so the real issue becomes his special voting stock. His and Rebecca's?"

"Rebecca? She owns half those special shares."

"Really. So John Ross's move is?"

"No move. Just wait until Rebecca donates her shares to the Ewing Family Foundation."

John Ross plays with the five boys on the beach in the Virgin Islands while noticeable pregnant Pamela lies in the sun. Lucy sits at a table playing cards with Mateo.

Walking through along a path through the tropical greenery between the house and beach they come across Barbara who says she was just coming to get them for lunch.

With lunch finished the au pair gathers the boys to take them into the house for a nape. They make the rounds hugging and kissing the adults before trodden goes off.

Lucy then says, "I heard back from Uncle Bobby. It's a go. He's agreed to the expansion of the board and to Katherine's agreed to what she thinks is his idea."

"OK," John Ross says. "The Ewing Family Foundation will be overseen by a five person board. You," looking at Lucy, "Me. Uncle Bobby, Don Lockwood and Mateo," he says nodding to Mateo. "I want this secured before we proceed with Katherine Wentworth." Looking at Mateo and Pamela, "She's agreed to turn over to the foundation the trust fund on which she and Rebecca have been living and which owns half the Trident shares Davids counting on."

Lucy says, "We set up an allowance for Katherine and Rebecca for the rest of their lives and so would any of Rebecca's children, and the foundation gets the rest."

John Ross adds, "The Foundation gets control of those Trident votes."

Lucy looks around the table. "And the first thing we do is get rid of Ronaldo Baxter by sticking him on a plane to Ecuador."

"Why Ecuador?" Pamela asks.

Mateo answers, "He was originally with CalcoHarwood and oversaw a project for them in the Amazon where he deliberately
designed, built, and operated on the cheap using substandard technology that led to pollution everywhere on a daily basis for almost three decades.

John Ross said, "We couldn't begin to deal with this mess so I'm leaving it up to David and Ronaldo since they created it. Ronaldo left CalcoHarwood for Trident, ironically. But he's one of the people who have escaped criminal charges by not going to Ecuador to face them or any country that would extradite him. David claims ignorance of the whole mess. But the board will vote to settle with Ecuador and use some of the billions of dollars in cash he's sitting on with the plan of going after Yau Tei."

A television news reporter says, "In a rainforest area roughly three times the size of Manhattan, Calco, the predecessor to CalcoHarwood, and now owned by Trident, carved out 350 oil wells, and upon leaving the country in 2002, left behind some 1,000 open-air, unlined waste pits filled with crude and toxic sludge. Many of these pits leak into the water table or overflow in heavy rains, polluting rivers and streams that tens of thousands of people depend on for drinking, cooking, bathing and fishing. Calco also dumped more than 18 billion gallons of toxic wastewater called "produced water" – a byproduct of the drilling process – into the rivers of the Oriente. At the height of Calco's operations, the company was dumping an estimated 4 million gallons of per day, a practice outlawed in major US oil producing states like Louisiana, Texas, and California decades before the company began operations in Ecuador in 1967. By handling its toxic waste in Ecuador in ways that were illegal in its home country, Calco saved an estimated $3 per barrel of oil produced.

Trident agreed to pay eighteen billion dollars which they will use to pay directly to the harmed indigenous community as well as for the clean up. The company has said because of unforeseen cost over runs, thus might go higher, but assured they will return the land unharmed for future generations. In addition Trident will record and air in Ecuador a public statement of apology made by company interim CEO Liam Wendell. Former company CEO Ronaldo Braxton, who was in charge of Calco's operations at the height of this disaster in the early two thousands has been sentenced as the responsible corporate officer knowingly causing the death of at least one and fifty people by his actions during his time on the project. Braxton, who was unknowingly delivered into Ecuadorian custody was sentenced to a three hundred million dollar fine and one hundred and fifty life sentences. He sits in prison awaiting appeal. The U.S. State Department has not commented on the case."

Chris holds a press conference in the lobby of the Ewing Oil building. "Yes as a field services company we do a lot of work in closing down production. Unfortunately this is long over due. We also have a company we own that does just that, toxic clean up. We can handle the job. And, don't forget it was the Ewings influence that forced Trident to settle. We're not the bad guys, we're just the latest owners in a long line of people. But I can assure you as my daddy always said to me, we will leave things better than we found them."

He points to a reporters, "Mr. Ewing, will Ewing Oil then be making a profit off of this disaster?"

"Well honestly yes. We're not a non profit. We'll be competitive, I assure you. But you also have to think we've lost a lot of money. Trident stock is in free fall. Ewing Oil owns 2-3%. So does the Ewing Family Foundation due to the most recent and generous gift of Katherine Wentworth. My cousin and is wife own twice that much through their company Lone Star and so does his sister Amanda Harwood. We've taken a bigger hit then anyone, well us and the Wendell's and Yau Tei Corporation. But this is a must do."

Pointing to another reporter he's asked, "Do you think Liam Wendell is the right man for the job. When this law suit first came about it was his grandfather who put up the fight, accused of bribery and intimidation."

"Liam Wendell has worked with my family for sometime now. We trust him. He's also on the board of Standard Bank in New York. They are working to help these people invest their settlement to real benefit not only their lives but the lives of future generations to live as they choose in the Amazon Rain Forest."

The reporter says, "Again a conflict of interest. Lone Star is a major investor in Lone Star and your cousin Pamela sits in their board in New York City."

"Look what you call a conflict is us making sure what happens is done right. With this kind of money there's a lot of room to steal from these people and we're not about to let this happen."

"Mr. Ewing. Mr. Ewing. Can you comment on Ronaldo Baxter's sentence?"

"Yeah. Executives better take it as a warning. We're sick of you bidding behind the law to claim you shouldn't be prosecuted. You make a decision, you live with the consequences. Listen. Thank you everyone. I really can't stay here all day. I have a company to run."

"Mr. Ewing. The leader in 'Blue Energy,' can you comment? Mr. Ewing."

Chris laughs. "It's how I talk. But there's a basis for the term. Ewing Oil bought a company that takes the point where salt water and fresh water mix, where a chemical process occurs and with the application engineering we harness this phenomenon for the generation of electricity. It's something I worked on in my undergrad days. I believe I can improve the process. The point being this so called "blue energy” is so plentiful that it could meet all our needs,if we can find an effective way to tap it.

That's where I come in. Right now I'm looking at generating electricity from dissolved carbon dioxide gas, which might be captured from fossil fuel powered plants.

Most of my work has been on the fracking process, well and the mechanical use of that methane. Anyway in the fracking process, small amounts of methane are released directly into the atmosphere. I've worked to eliminate that waste. This had helped the environment and greatly increased our production.

My life's work has always been to engineer better ways to deal with fossil fuels. I'm all for green energy, don't get me wrong. We've installed so many of these devices at the ranch we're finally zero carbon. Green energy is energy from natural sources such as sunlight, wind, rain, tides, plants, algae and geothermal heat. They're renewable, meaning they're naturally replenished. So strictly speaking the chemical process where salt water and fresh water mix is a green energy.

But when taking the same process to generate electricity from dissolved carbon dioxide gas, that's improved use of fossils fuels and I call that blue energy. I also refer to atomic energy as white energy. So in that vein I say that Ewing Oil is the world leader in blue energy technology.

My family had invested in these so called green and white energy technologies, but blue energy is still the primary way we meet our energy needs." The reporters than hit him with a bunch more questions. "Really I am sorry, I could babble on about this for ever and usually the cousins eyes will glaze over by now, but I do have to get back to work. Thank you so much. We'll keep you posted. Thank you." Chris walks away from the podium.

In his study John Ross turns off his tv and says to Mateo and Liam, "My god is he boring. But he's happy with what he's doing and Ewing Oil is stronger than it's ever been. And South Fork, hell grandma would have never guessed how green we'd be around here. Gotta hand it to him. So Liam, the report on your father."

"He's more determined than ever to destroy Yau Tei."

"Let him. But he's not getting back all those votes. Trident is not going anywhere. Have you found a replacement for yourself yet?"

"I have. Mateo's running a background check. George Demarest. His father did some work as a lawyer for the Ewings some time ago. He's an accountant and a lawyer. MBA from Chicago. CEO the utility company Chicago Edison. Assistant Secretary of Energy for a short while. Then CEO of Paliston Futures, a hedge fund company specializing in energy businesses. And now CEO of Energy Logistics Partners here in Dallas, in which Lone Star is a significant investor.

"Excellent. Excellent work. Well you let me know how it goes. I'm headed out for a very important meeting. My boys and I are discussing the news of what to do with a sister in the family."

The Ewing's gather outside back at South Fork for dinner. John Ross man's hand barbecue. Dusty and Linda Farlow arrive. John Ross is so glad to see them. He introduces them to his sons and then turning to Pamela he points out her very pregnant state and says this is "Sue Ellen. That's Pamela's idea. She just loves my momma. I was campaigning for Eleanor after grandma. She always wanted Rebecca after her grandmother but than she got to meet my sister Rebecca. Anyway can you believe it? I don't know what I'm gonna do with a girl. Little Susie Q."

Lucy comes walking up the driveway next. John Ross says, "Oh hey Luce. I ran into Mitch the other day. He just took a job here in Dallas. Apparently he's divorced. I hope you don't mind me inviting him over. You know a home cooked meal."

Late in the evening the Ewings and their guest gather around a camp fire and watch the sun go down. The boys beg for the "Land" song. John Ross takes out his guitar and sings the Woodie Guntherie song, "This Land is Your Land."

Eventually that night they sing home on the range.

Rebecca walks into the living room of the Wendell Mansion. She notices a vase full of flowers smashed agains the fire place. She picks up the card and reads, "Our granddaddy use to say, don't sit on the fence, if you can't play both sides. Love always John Ross." She looks up at an angry David and says, "These come for me this afternoon?"

"I'm betting as a reminder for your vote tomorrow in Hong Kong."

"Listen David. I've given some thought to this. Every move we make John Ross is one stead ahead of us. Fact is, we only got married for business. Let's agree to just walk away."

"You filthy whore! I should have known you didn't have the backbone for this game. Whores start out spineless, spreading their legs for anyone comes a long, and stay spineless."

"You're drunk."

"Oh don't worry, I'm seeing very clearly my dear."

"No you don't. You never had. You just get dumber and dumber every day."

David smashes his fist into a table. "Shut up! Just shut up. I haven't lost yet. You want to go crawling back do it. But if you're not with me, your against me. Remember that."

Rebecca walks back out of the room.

David follows her. At the bottom of the stairs he grabs her arm and says, "Don't you walk away from me."

She pulls away from him. "Let go of me. You're hurting me."

"Listen to me. Your on my team. I have people for you to talk to in Shenzhen before the meeting. You'll listen to them."

Dia stands at the top of the stairs. They look up at him watching them. There's a silence that comes over them.

David says, "You'd better straighten her up before we're all left to deal with her screw up."

Dia walks down and takes her hand. "I'll talk with her. You go make sure everything's set on your end. We wouldn't want any surprises going into this."

"Don't worry about my end. Just see to it that she doesn't do something stupid."

David leaves the room.

"I've never seen him like that," Rebecca says. "He's usually so placid."

"He's under a lot of stress."

"I suppose so." Rebecca looks at him wickedly.

Dia reaches up her skirt. She leans her head back and moans. He then puts his free hand on her throat and squeezes.

Chris finishes dressing in the morning complaining to Emily about dealing with Wendell and how John Ross got him, but by no means is the battle done.

"Chris. I been thinking. Why don't you retire too?"

"Retire. Why honey I'm in my prime."

"Yes but."

Chris holds her shoulders and kisses her forehead. "I know you like to burry your head in the sand, but I'm more the face life head on sort. I can't retire. It's just not in me."

"But this is a lot of stress."

"And the doctor said I'm as fit as a horse."

"If you say so Chris."

"I say so."

John Ross sits in his study with Mateo and Liam and two others. Jack sits to the side of his father watching the conversation. "Liam, this is Marv Anderson, an old friend of the family. He's on the board of Standard Bank. And, Preston Walker. We went to school together and he's chairman of CP. Liam Wendell is my family's go to finance person. And you all know my cousin Lucy."

There's some momentary greetings.

"So, I brought y'all together to discuss my brother's political future with the idea to eventually put him in the White House. I realize he's lacking some of the education that's one to be expected, but anything can be expected now. And I don't care if we use the Gerald Ford method of getting him the job."

"Why would you want your brother in that job?" Preston asks. "It's horrible."

"Because from that position there are things we can get done. Listen we've got sometime. This Republican President gets to finish eight years. The Democrats get the next eight. Beau won't get his shot until after that. Though like all Southworth's, Lucy can trace her involvement with the Democrats right back to statehood, and we all are aware of her parties in D.C. But, the rest of us are Republicans and that's how I had Beau run."

Mateo passes out folders to everyone."

"These are people we can consider supporting. Mateo has included a through investigation of them, strengths that we can use and Beau can learn from and weaknesses which become leashes. Oh and a list of already important friends. The Governor. Senator Ryland. We have to talk about that, Congress or the Governors job."

Marv says, "I like this one, George Wood Baines. Doesn't come from much, but well educated. Smart. Well spoken. We can work with him. What we need to do is help him with some money, a bit of personal wealth."

John Ross says, "Say Marv didn't you have him on your boat the other day deep sea fishing with that nephew of the Presidents."

"You sure keep your ear to the ground."

Lucy walks into a barn where a team of contractors are working under Emily's supervision. "How's it going?"

"Coming along," Emily answers. "Thank you for the paintings. They arrived this morning."

"Of course. This is gonna be a beautiful oasis here at South Fork. What are the television screens for?"

"It's sort of a performing arts corner. Recordings. Sound. And that corner will be for books. Three stories, that's why they're digging a hole. And that corner we'll have a gourmet kitchen for visiting chefs. And that one is for interactive art. While the whole center will be taken up by paths along the visual arts, including you're Cézanne and Pissarro."

"It'll be beautiful. So we can go into John Ross's little sanctuary of sweat downstairs and booze up stairs or your little piece of tranquility and sensory massage."

Emily laughs, "Something like that. I hope everyone will really like it."

"Oh I'm sure they will. This was just full of junk anyway. 'Bout time we had a good clear out. And how's the cottage going?"

"Finished the master bedroom and new bath. I'm starting on Jeremy's room and his bath next. And then I'll start on the common room."

"Sounds like a plan. You sure you're OK with it though, such a small place. I mean I know I'm living in what's essential John Ross and Pamela's place, but she's sort of relegated design so much to me I think it's more mine. Not to mention I have other houses."

"Oh no. I'm fine. I love it. Im going to add a conservatory and with this," motioning around the construction, "I'll have plenty of space to entertain. I've been trying to talk Chris into a boat. But you know him. He's obsessed with work."

Lucy picks up on her worry, putting her hand in Emily's shoulder. "I know you worry about him."

"I just want him to rest more."

"I'll talk to him."

"Would you? Thank you Lucy. If he would just learn to relax more. He just never has any down time."

"The doctor said he was healthy. You know that right."

"Oh of course."

"When Chris had his heart attack. I watched you. You went from you, a very happy sort of social butterfly to pulling in on yourself. I don't think anyone else noticed. Most people would have expected you to break down. Or celebrate." Lucy smiles, trying to get a smile out of Emily. "But that's not how you handle things. You batten down the hatches and push forward." Motioning around the construction project, "And bury yourself in work. Just like Chris."

Emily hugs Lucy.

Chris walks out of a hotel bathroom wearing just a towel, saying to a woman sitting up in bed, "Oh come on now, don't look so glum. You enjoyed the first few times. All I need from you is inside information on what ever David Wendell is up to. It's that simple. You get something. I get something."

"And for his long?"

"What do you mean for how long? As long as it's mutually beneficial."

"Then I can have the recording?"

"Of course not. One never knows when I'll need it again."

"You're twisted."

"I'm sick. The saw those recording. You and this young studs were pretty bent if you ask me. So if you want to end your marriage and take the chance you kills will see all that depravity on the internet, you go ahead and give the word."

"You paid them didn't you?"

"Of course darlin' you. You didn't really think two stapling young boys like that were in to you sexually, did ya? Of come on now, if you'd have now how much fun you were going to have, you'd have paid them yourself."

Up in the rec room, Mateo sits at the bar and hands John Ross a file. John Ross asks, "What's this?"

"Brace yourself. It's Rebecca. I got wind of some therapist visits, so I got the files."

"Her therapists notes?"

"That mother of hers is a piece of work. You ask me she picks pimped her own daughter out for favor from those people she was dealing with."

"Are you serious?"

"I know the woman's unhinged and I got it, I'd have been pissed too if I had to share my father's money with two siblings from my mothers whoring around days, but damn." John Ross watches Mateo pour himself a shot and shoot it back. "That little girl didn't have a damn sole to protect her."

John Ross shoves the file back to him. "I don't think I can read it. Can you take care of Rebecca for me?"

"Already on it."

Ugh I can't believe Katherine would do something that horrible to her own daughter. :(

Glad to see that John Ross and Chris are alright. :)

I'm not too bothered about Milly's death. But shouldn't someone care about that?
She was a senator's wife (public figure) and supposedly the mother of his child (although we all know it's Chris). So there ought to be some reaction...
Not surprised Beau is a republican though.

I enjoyed the cute PamBecca & John Ross stuff at the vaccation house.

I hope Baxter is punished for what he did to the land he "developed" in Ecuador. Climate change is real so it's good that Chris is working on green alternatives.

Yay more Lucy and Mitch is divorced now. How about that? ;)

I agree and wasn't sure if it was over the top with Katherine but I wanted to explore a very vulnerable side to her as opposed to Pamela who is super strong. Do you think it's too much. The idea is Mateo will fall for her.

Lol - I think that's the tragedy of her life - no one seems to care - there's a scene coming up.

We're you surprised Lucy's a Democrat? John Ross is thinking way ahead :)

Yeah I never has a problem with the Ranch - farm family tend to stay with their home a d live close to each other. But the fact that wealthy people like this have just one home seemed strange to me.

The events in Ecuador are real from a case with Chevron they're still fighting.

Yea Lucy and Mitch are that could that just never seem to be far from each other.

Glad you're enjoying. ;)

Pamela goes over financials with Liam in her office. She's rather happy noting that David getting Yau Tei split up is a good thing for Lone Star, looking over all the excellent deals. She talks about creating a public conglomerate, Barnes Wentworth. Liam agrees with the idea, noting the pained look on her face.

"Just contractions. I'm fine. So let's set it up and arrange the financing to pick up every assets of Yau Tei we can get our hands on. Then we'll go public and refinance the debt."

Again he notice the pain on her face. "Are you sure you're alright? Maybe you should get to the hospital. Just in case."

"Yes I'm fine," she says standing up, "But just in case. Let's take these with us." Pamela rounds up the paper and hands them to Liam. "It could be some wait."

On their way out the door she says, "Can you believe a little book cooking scandal could prove fortuitous for us?"

"I'm not even sure how much of it's legit. But the U.S. government has grated the Longs sanctuary."

"Never the less. Lone Star will hold a considerable investment of course, but I want to make sure you get a sizable share. After all it's your father we have to thank for the opportunity." She squeezes his arm, noticeably in pain.

"I do appreciate it."

"We Ewings take care of our friends. John Ross and I were talking about that just yesterday. He turned some oil leases over to you and Mateo."

"Very generous of him."

Unable to stand, Pamela stops and takes hold of Liam who holds her up as the pain over comes her.

Rebecca comes down stairs at the Wendell mansion to see Dia Long welcoming his nephew into the house and introducing him as "An."

"Nice to meet you An. Will you be staying with us?"

"No. I have an apartment down town."

"An works for Epiwear, a small software company that Lone Star just bought from Yau Tei."

"You design software?"

"Yes I do. I've been sent to Dallas as part of a team to open an office here in the United States."

"You're working for my sister-in-law than. Pamela Ewing."

"Yes I am. Well my boss works for a person in her company that oversees technology investments and that person works for Ms. Ewing."

"One big happy family," Dia smiles.

Mateo explains to John Ross, "Long An, is easily China's best hacker. He's been on the CIA payroll since college"

John Ross aims his shot gun, yells, "Pull," and shoots a clay pigeon. "He'll work for us?"

"Depends on the protection you provide him."

"From the Chinese?"

"Exactly. They want him back because they believe he was really their operative."

"He worked both sides, extremely well."

"So how do we know he won't betray us?"

"There no guarantee?" John Ross takes aim.

"Never any guarantees."

"Pull." John Ross shots another clay pigeon. "Well if there knew way in is ti streak our secrets let's give them an impenetrable wall."

Dia sits out back of the Wendell mansion with An. "Do you feel safe?"

"Not usually," An answers. "But I'm glad to be here. Much better than were I was."

"How'd you get out?"

"Even before they tore Yau Tei apart, they came and took me to the main land. A company called BranchWater came and got me out. Paid off a lot of people along the way. BranchWater belongs to the Ewing's."

"You can trust them."

Beau has sex in bed with a beautiful young girl in his apartment in Austin.

John Ross brings the boys into there mother's hospital room to see their sister. Lucy brings Jordan and Chris and Emily bring Jeremy with them. The family gathers around a tablet where Sue Ellen says she'll be in Dallas for the weekend to see her little granddaughter.

Lucy, Chris and Emily take all five boys with them to the cafeteria. Lucy spots Mitch and smiles. Emily tells her to go talk to him, that they'll take care of the kids.

Lucy walks over and says, "Hi."

John Ross sits in bed with Pamela, holding her baby and cuddling with her husband.

Beau walks away from the Capitol with fellow legislators. A beautiful young intern approaches, "Mr. Ewing, I was told to find you and bring you to the Governor's office."

"Why, what's up?"

"I wasn't told. Mr. Cheney, your chief of staff will meet you there."

He makes his excuses to his colleagues and walks away with the girl.

Rebecca walks out of an office building in Dallas and before she gets to her waiting limousine Mateo approaches her. "Rebecca."

"Yes."

"I'm Mateo Ramos. A friend of your brothers. He asked me to speak to you."

"Oh yes. Mateo. Yeah. What is it?"

"Could we?" he says motioning to her car. She agrees and they get into the car.

In the car Mateo says, "I was asked to look into you life in Europe. Your brother was concerned with you marrying David Wendell."

"OK."

He takes some papers from his pocket and hands them to her. "I won't share them with him, but I want you to know, these people, I've handled them."

"Handled?"

"I looked into each of them and was able to confirm for myself what they did. There's no rehabilitating people like those. And frankly the kindest thing is to put them out of their misery."

Rebecca's face falls. She looks at the papers. Her expression turns stone cold.

"They can't hurt you Rebecca."

She looks at him and searches his face.

John Ross looks at a headstone that reads, 'Millicent Lee Ewing Daughter, Wife, Mother.' He places a large bouquet of flowers on the ground and says, "I'm sorry Milly. When I was a kid I was pretty mixed up and I used you and that was wrong. I feel like my whole family used you. Maybe you used us too. But I'm sorry."

In the back of the limousine Rebecca holds Mateo and tries to catch her breath. Mateo holds her back and strokes her hair.

On a private jet over Texas Beau leans back in his chair with the young intern burying her face in his lap, his pants down his ankles.

Pamela walks into her office with her secretary following welcoming her back. Pamela explains she's got to wrap things up and change her schedule for next week, that her, John Ross and the kids are going to the island for at least a week.

Her secretary goes over her appointments including a meeting with Long An and other Yau Tei people.

"David might have organized the board room coup with Yau Tei, but it was John Ross that tipped it over the edge. We want to get our hands on as much as possible."

Liam walking behind her next says, "I'm on it. We've got mainland tycoons and state-owned enterprises snapping up Hong Kong assets and with Yau Tei being like blood in the water."

"I want that English language news paper."

"On top of it."

"And the grocery store change. Hong Kong is overwhelmingly reliant on China for its food and John Ross wants these stores."

"He's spending money to stir up the separatists."

"The Chinese government went after Yau Tei and forced Long Wei to sell his share, bought Rebecca's debt to acquire her share, debt outside her trust fund, and went after Don Lockwood. They're going to wish they had him back."

"My father worked behind the scenes helping. His plan is to remove one share holder after another until no major share holders except himself, are left in Trident."

"So he'll be after us next?"

"Mateo says he's collecting information on Lucy and Bobby to use them, along with me to control the Ewing Foundation."

"Has he approached you?"

"Briefly, but no details. He's not aware that AmHoldings controls my Aunt Ava and Uncle Andrews shares in Trident."

"Lots like the giant's in the line and doesn't even know it."

Beau walks into the back of South Fork as John Ross enters the family room from the front. "You talked to the Governor?"

"He's got me working on some legislation I'm assuming benefits you."

"I also want you to be careful about all your dalliances."

"You're sleeping around. That intern, David put in your office."

"What?"

"David Wendell is paying her."

"No way."

"He's coming at this family with everything he's got and you're making it easy for him."

Rebecca sits at the Wendell mansion's dinning room table table signing papers as Dia directs her. "This'll restructure your debt and allow me to manage your personal wealth. I can't get at your trust fund as your mother controls it, at least for now."

"There is something I want to know."

"What is it?"

"What does David have that lets him control you?"

"Your don't really think I'm going to let loose my secrets, do you?" He caresses her face.

"No I suppose not."

"Let's go up stairs."

Rebecca smiles a devilish smile and follows him.

Up in her room they quickly undress.

Long An showers in her apartment high above the city of Dallas. His body is lean and smooth and tight.

An walks out in a towel across his living room and pours two drinks.

A knock comes from the door. He walks across the tiled floor in his bare feet to open it, finding Liam. "Glad you could come over. Come in."

Liam walks into the apartment with its commanding views. "There was something else to talk about."

"I think so."

"About the Epiware acquisition?"

"No. not really?"

"Something else?"

An steps up to him and rubs his crotch. "Yes something else."

David sits across from George Demarest. "You sit behind that desk just as long as you remember you work for me."

Lucy walks through the hospital campus with a team of doctors and administrators. "My uncles JR and Bobby as well as my father have battle cancer. I'm not sure if this is a scourge on our family or not my grandmother did as well and frankly it scares the hell out of me."

"Understandable. And we're honored to be of help to your family."

"Thank you. Now usually my family is Episcopalian, by way of the Southworths, but I've chosen your hospital because I'm impressed by your work. And my granddaddy was a Baptist."

"With a hundred and fifty million dollars I assure you the Ewing Cancer Center will be among the nation's best."

"Thank you. I do appreciate all your help with this." Lucy sees Mitch coming out of an office with some other people and they smile at each other.

Rebecca and Mateo ride horses on the South Fork Ranch. "So you're responsible for all of this?"

"Not directly. I do a lot of things and work with a lot of people."

"Like run this ranch. What's your title?"

"President of South Fork Ranch. I'm also the President Branch Water."

"The security company you were talking about?"

"Yes. And President of the Braddock County Chamber of Commerce."

"Busy man."

"Always have been. John Ross helped me focus being busy on several projects for him."

"And you were raised here?"

"Off and on. Between here and Mexico. My Tia Teresa was Miss. Ellie's housekeeper. There was me and my sister and hermano and my madre, who worked here too."

"Very big place."

"725,000 acres and includes portions of six Texas counties, including Braddock and Dallas, though it's far from being one continuous property and includes land up in Alberta and on St. John's island. We rent a lot of the land, like the Wade and Henderson Ranches, Wade belonging to your cousin Lucas Krebs and Henderson to your brother Beau."

"So you raise cattle?"

"Yes in all three locations. We also farm cotton here in Texas and sugar cane on the islands. We raise and breed horses. There's hunting and fishing. There's Braddock Hardware, South Fork Saddle Shop, and Braddock County News Herald."

"No oil?" she laughs.

"No oil. All the oil set ups you see on the ranch are owned by Ewing Oil. The in turn lease the mineral rights from a trust fund set up for John Ross's children."

"I see. Will you be at the reunion?"

"Oh yes. A lot of people from all over come for that. Lucy started it on her grandmother's grandmother's birthday, August 8. Miss Frances. Your grandmother use to have a big meal for everyone on South Fork and Lucy's expanded it to a full blown out reunion. John Ross complains it's too hot but she persists. And all the Ewing's show up, well nearly all, and then anyone who ever lived on the ranch and their families. It's got to be a pretty big day around here."

She smiles at him and then pauses to study him. "You know more about my family than I do."

"I suppose I do. My madre use to say I was too observant."

"Is there such a thing?"

"According to her. We never got a long really. My hermano always got in a lot of trouble but he was still the apple of her eye. I think I annoyed her. She certainly tried to ignore me."

"I'm sorry."

"Oh no. It's ok. My Papá and I were close. And honestly, despite it all, so we're my hermano and I."

"And your sister?"

"Miss sister and I never got along. She was una bruja, a witch."

"I didn't have any brothers or sisters."

"That must have been very lonely."

"I don't know. Just what I knew."

"Well here at South Fork you're never alone."

Beau rolls off the girl in bed, out of breath and sweaty. "Damn worth every penny."

"What?"

"Of didn't I tell you? I know David Wendell's paying you for this. Remind me to send him a thank you card."

"I don't know what you're talking about?"

"Whatever." Beau gets out of bed. "Tell ya what. You can keep his money and I'll double it. You go telling him I know he'll stop paying you. But you can keep up this game and I'll add my bit."

She looks at him with disgust.

"Oh come on baby. Don't put on airs now that your secret's out. Your good. Damn good. Well worth the money."

Chris sits in his office looking over some papers. A big grin crosses his face. He spreads the papers across his desk and says, "Oh David so you thought ole Chris was just gonna fall that one did ya?" Chris laughs.

Rebecca shows up with David. David picks up a drink at one of the many bars and John Ross pulls Rebecca up onto stage with him to dance among the three lines deep crowd.

Sue Ellen walks up to and and sits down with Pamela and says. "That Rebecca?"

"Yes it is. She's married to David Wendell."

"JR would roll in his grave to know that."

"Yea well maybe JR should have paid better attention to things and then he'd have know about his daughter and what Katherine Wentworth was up to."

"There's a lot JR should have done."

Chris sits down with them and says, "Pamela, can I ask you about Manama?"

"Why?"

"They approached us about an expanded deal. As you know John Ross sold those leases to CalcoHarwood, which means they're with Trident now."

"OK. The Emir of Manama was a friend of JR's. Take it for what it's worth."

"They're wanting to speed things up. They're basically draining the small country dry and investing the money. We're wanting us to tied up a hell of a lot on this expansion."

"Is there a problem?"

"I've heard rumor that we might not get our money out."

"Why?"

"Political turmoil."

Sue Ellen says, "Sounds like a scheme of JR's."

Pamela tells him, "You need to talk to John Ross right away."

"I just thought you might know something about these people."

"No. Why would I?"

"You dealt with them before."

"Talk to John Ross."

Beau stands around charming the ladies.

Lucy takes a walk with Mitch and Jeremy. "So it was just a accident?" Mitch asks.

"I didn't know it but apparently she had a drug problem and she passed out."

"I certainly wouldn't suggest going in the pool alone in the middle of the night all doped up."

"I took Jeremy to the funeral but I don't think he understood much of what went on."

"No I suppose not, just that his mother isn't around."

"She wasn't around much anyway."

"That's a shame. So he's sort of attached himself to you?"

"Pretty much." Lucy rubs the young boy's head.

Chris says to David, "Well, well marry a Ewing and you just show up around South Fork like a bad penny."

"Hello Chris. And how are you?"

"Me? Of I'm excellent."

"Heard you bought one hell of a boat."

"Something like that."

"A 300 foot schooner. I read all about Gaia. It use to be available to charter."

"So I've heard. You're not asking to borrow it are you?"

"What is family for."

Putting his glass down Chris says, "Sometimes you make me want to puke," and walks away.

Mitch pushes Jordan on a swing while talking to Lucy.

Beau walks away with a girl and sneaks up stairs at South Fork.

John Ross and Rebecca laugh about dancing while getting something to drink.

Emily says to Chris, "What did my father want?"

"Who knows. Talked about me buying the Gaia."

"He's not going to rest until he's taken Trident away from the Ewing's."

"That termites not gonna rest until he's wiped us out."

"You won't let him."

"Of course not." Chris hugs Emily from the side and kisses her forehead. "Ain't no one gonna hurt you. I promise my dear."

"Holding him tight, "That's the man I married. Too smart to let a termite like David Wendell get the best of him."

"You can count on that."

The board of Trident gathers. George Demarest walks in with some people including David Wendell and a Russian man. Long Dia has his own gathering of people around him and so does Pamela Ewing, setting up a very noticeable three block structure. George calls the meeting to order and says, "I'd like to introduce everyone to Sergei Vaino. He's joining the board, brining our total to fifteen. He represents the Rosnova Group and their considerable investment in Trident."

Some time later The board begins to exit the room as Christopher enters. Dia, Pamela, David, George and Sergei remain. Christopher to David, "Ewing Oil will be expanding our Manama operations and because you're not interested we've found other partners."

"Good for you. Sergei, George, I'd like you to meet my son-in-law, Christopher Ewing."

"I've heard about you. They say you're brilliant," Sergei says.

"I'm working on getting more oil out if Manama they the last estimates. Twenty-five percent more. Maybe thirty. And we're going full at it. Manama has pulled out of OPEC."

"That's a dangerous came you're playing Mr. Ewing. Especially for a man with a family."

"I don't operate out of fear. You can tell your boss that for me."

"You might want to reconsider." Sergei walks out of the room first followed by the others. He comes face to face with John Ross.

John Ross shoves some phones in the man's chest and says, "See here in Texas we're blunt, so when we threaten a man and his family we come right out and say it." Sergei looks at the pictures. "They look familiar to you? How about to your boss. This here is business. You take it to the next level and when I'm done with those pretty girls they'll hate you and your boss. That clear enough?"

"This isn't just business, monkeying with the price of oil Mr. Ewing. This is my country's livelihood."

"Mind too. And we're gonna keep it low. I've set up some people to help me keep the piece in Manama. I suggest you stay out."

"Who the hell do you think you are? You think everything is yours? You go around pushing your self into everyone."

"I own Manama. Ewing Oil has spent a fortune and with the American government's help we've build hospitals and schools. We lost America boys in that dessert two decades ago keeping it free. You want to take it from me come pry it out of my hands. But if be careful, your hubris makes you arrogant. Who do you think pumped up that ego of yours, waiting for you to make your move, a move that allows us to finish you once and for all. So come on swing. I dare ya."

"Like I told your cousin . . ."

John Ross interrupts, "I heard you. I just hope you heard me." John Ross turns his back on him and the three Ewing's leave them behind.
