But how did he wind up shooting both the director and the cinematographer??

I'm puzzled by this too. If they were filming him from the front firing the gun, both the director and cinematographer would be in front of him but how are two people shot? Did the bullet go through the cinematographer and then hit the director? Or did he fire the gun twice in short succession not realizing the first shot hit someone?

I can't begin the fathom the level of guilt one would feel after accidentally killing someone. When I was a baby my sister was playing with a friend. The boy darted out into the street. A woman driving on the road saw him and slammed on her breaks but he was struck and killed. This happened in front of my grandparents house, the driver was a neighbor for many years after this. I learned the woman never got behind the wheel of an automobile again.

How horrible. :eck:It's sad that something like this could happen. It must be hell for Alec.:(
I feel sorry for him and also for the Director of Photography's family as well as the director. I am guessing the reason they were both hit is because usually a Director of photography and a director work pretty closely on a movie set so they were probably sitting or standing at the same place.

Anyway it's a real tragedy and I agree blanks should not be used anymore when they could easily add some CGI effects.

There's just something about those tweets..... for one thing, if I'd just shot two people, killing one of them, I can't believe I'd take to Twitter within 24 hours.
I agree. I think he felt compelled to tweet because of his status as a celebrity, especially since he has known his share of controversy. The press would demand some sort of comment from him and insinuate he was hiding something if he didn't. Reading those tweets I can't help but think someone advised him on what to say - and what not to say. They are very carefully worded.

Supposedly, union crew walked off the set earlier in the day and were replaced by non-union people. Could someone have placed live rounds in the gun as a vicious form of protest?

Of course, I'm making things up now. But it's drama.

And it still doesn't explain how Alec managed to hit the camera person and the director, let alone in one fell swoop.

Well in the old days (before social media) the press would be all over him asking for a statement. Now celebrities just issues their statements on twitter and the press reprint those. I think it's an effective way to get the media off their backs.

It said in the last article posted that the director was standing behind the director of photography. I suppose the bullet must have passed through her.:(

This tweet Baldwin made in 2017 has gone viral for obvious reasons:

There is a difference between the gun violence by the US police and with fatal accidents on film sets. There are other work places too where deadly accidents happen (construction sites, transport, raw material and chemical industries). This is not comparable to the excessive use of guns by the police in the US. We all know Baldwin's reputation and that he's also an anti-Trumper. No surprise that the deplorables at Twitter abuse the tragedy for their agenda.

Yes, the rightwingers are out in force, insisting that "lefty Pedowoods get away with everything."
