I went with an unconventional choice Pilar since she never betrayed Richard and they had great chemistry in their scenes. Their prior offscreen affair which we learned about early in season 9 made season 8 more interesting when I revisited it. If the show continued past season 9 I could imagine those two having another affair.

This is a difficult one. Apart from Liz (who was more plutonic) and Lauren they all betrayed him. Although it was never revealed Pilar would've hopped into bed with another man, while she was seeing Richard. If you consider what happened in season 9 when the beautiful banker was with Lance, this could have and in all likelihood would have happened. In terms of genuine feelings it is a toss of a cent, between Pamela and Terri.

Despite Pamela unsuccessfully trying to blow Richard off the face of the earth they had some fantastic 'work, rest and play' scenes (season 3 and 4). Terri was undoubtedly a man eater. She was always after the xxl pot of gold, snaring Richard into marriage is a case in point. Of course he had more charisma in his little finger than Dr. Michael Ranson ever could've dreamed about. 'Dick Dastardly' had deep feelings for Maggie, ever since he clapped eyes on her. Terri was always going to be second best. He didn't help her when the earthquake struck and so the stage was set for world class exhibitions of love in 1986 - '87, between Richard and Maggie. Now that all is said and done my vote goes to Pamela.

Richard arrives at the hospital, to be with Maggie. She explains to him that Chase is out of surgery and then he asks about Terri, (a scene from season 6, 1986 - '87):

Richard hugs a distraught Maggie.

Richard: "I'd like to help with the funeral. Terri would want that."

Maggie: "She loved you very much........she did love you! She told me yesterday, even then I just played her along. Even then I didn't take her seriously."

Richard: "What did she say?"

Maggie fights back the tears: "That she knew it would take time but that she hoped you would grow to love her too."

Richard comforts Maggie again. This will happen a lot, this the season. Kim Novak's year.

You have forgotten about Anne Bowen ex of Michael Sharpe and mother of Danny.
Danny was Richard's son but he was nothing like him.
He was his firstborn and apparently Richard had been in love with Anne.
Susan Blakely played Anne, she was very pretty even though she was five years older than the actress who played Lauren.
Susan had been fantastic in Rich Man Poor Man. But you see, you don't even remember her

Completely agree.
Pilar was not a match for Lance.
You imagine that Lisa would have been Richard's daughter and not Lance's.
It would have been a bond of union between them. They would also have revived a love story.

David said
The fans of the German club asked David about this topic
For DAVID SELBY: Besides SUSAN [SULLIVAN], who else was a great love interest for Richard from your point of view?
Answer (CHIP SELBY on behalf of DAVID SELBY; April 17, 2012):
DAVID says the only real love interest Richard Channing had on the series was Maggie. He dated ANA-ALICIA's character a little, but the other older women - KIM, GINA, LESLIE, etc. we were all just fun/business.

In the ninth season in the second episode
Richard picking up Michael and Kevin from Pilar, who took care of them between Maggie's funeral and Richard's release from prison. When Richard thanks Pilar and embraces her in friendship,
Launch reacts with brewing tension.
Also, if you look closely, it's Pilar who hugs him.
A story Pilar Richard infinitely more game than Lauren's

Deleted scene: in the foyer of the Falcon Crest Victorian Mansion with Richard picking up Michael and Kevin from Pilar, who took care of them between Maggie's funeral and Richard's release from prison. When Richard thanks Pilar and embraces her in friendship, Lance reacts with brewing tension. This scene was removed in post-production.
Incredible dead Maggie and who takes care of Michael and her brother her adorable grandmother or her loving aunt Emma well not her nephew's wife.

I voted for the blonde vixen Hartford. They had so many funny scenes together, as the Popeye and Olive Oyl of Falcon Crest.

They made a very funny and sexy couple
The seduction scene was very funny, it started with a fruit and pillow fight and ended with a very passionate scene on a sofa.
Susan Sulliva was also very sexy and funny but the writers insisted that Maggie be very serious and formal.

Didn´t Richard have another wife? The one who gave birth Lorraine from another husband? Stephanie Prescott, I think. The same actress played a psychotic ex-wife in the "Rage of Angels" miniseries and ran her car over poor Jaclyn Smith, who miscarried her baby from the former´s husband, played by Garret Boydston from "The Colbys". In the sequel, Stephanie was played by... Susan Sullivan. Talk about poetic justice. And talk about an off-off-off-topic!

The most interesting partner was Diane Hunter and they both had a similar outlook and objectives so it might have been a partnership that could have survived long term. I'm not sure how much sexual chemistry they had but it could have worked out. So she is my choice.

Miss Lynch and Richard had some lovely scenes together. I don't think he loved Terry, as much as she loved him. Without a shadow of a doubt Maggie was Richard's greatest love.

I can't picture Diana Hunter as anyone's wife.

And perhaps marriage was never an option for Jacqueline's Gestapo child. I can see him being married to a scheming socialite while having an affair with her soulful sister. Would that be an interesting angle for the Falcon Crest sequel?

I dunno
He should've married Jacqueline's ghost. Wouldn't that have been twisted?

Completely agree . He was a more suitable partner for Pilar than Lance, who was a brat.
In the ninth season it could have been the partner of a widower Richard,
After all, it was very familiar, I took care of Richard's children when he was in jail,
They both liked business and were very ambitious.

With Diana he never had any chemistry and if I remember correctly no bed scene. I don't think they kissed either
In that season she had some more torrid scenes with Melissa. Some had to be censored because the breathing was heavy.
