This is 1984 at its most heinous.
This is downright unconstitutional. Even a pedestrian reading of the First Amendment would indicate that this can not be tolerated.

The First Amendment specifically, and the Federalist Papers were written to prevent exactly this type of Government overreach

It's amazing how anybody can be more concerned about "people in their basement pushing conspiracy theories" than the grave threat of government and media propaganda.

I agree with Julian Assange that the enemy is ignorance, but some people go out of their way to be ignorant on purpose.

I agree. There is a real effort to the basic freedoms enjoyed b Americans. No government should determine who can say what,
since "disinformation" may be highly subjective, depending on one's ideology.
The best response to objectional speech is still reasoned, intelligent dialogue, not government regulation.
