Although the media are trying to give the impression that everyone is happy about Charles being made King without any discussion or any attempt to seek public consent, on the ground, some people are showing anger and displeasure. When Charles visited Cardiff today, although there were many people cheering him there was a significant amount to booing too.

He was also heckled by someone telling him "While we struggle to heat our homes, we have to pay for your parade" and cries of "Nid fy mrenin" which I believe is Welsh for "Not my king".

This follows the booing he received when he visited Scotland earlier this week,

Charles the Adulterer was never particularly popular, although his popularity has gone up recently due to understandable sympathy for him over his mother's death. I think the booing will get louder and more frequent as his reign progresses.

Nice to know you're not "An Adulterer."

What is not noted in the title of this thread is that 1000s and 1000s of people came out in Wales to pay their respects and to support the new King

There were unquestionably more people cheering than booing but that's not the point. People didn't boo or heckle the late Queen so we are already seeing signs that the public have less respect for both Charles and the monarchy than was the case for the previous head of state.

People are holding back during this period of national mourning and I think things will only get worse for the monarchy in the future.
