Paul Michael Glaser who played Starsky hated the car in real life. Two undercover cops wouldn't be driving around in a vehicle which was so distinctive like that.
Well, he had a point. Not exactly the most subtle vehicle to ride in if you’re trying to blend in with the background and catch bad guys. It was an iconic car though. I wonder if he felt differently about it as the show became more popular.

No. His dislike of the car never left him. :)

Up until this week I only had Seasons One to Eleven, but I now have the full set including the final season and movies
This is amazing purchase @Mel O'Drama, this boxset looks really amazing and is completely complete including the movies. I have often thought enough to buy this series myself but I thought I already had so many series, but who knows for a good price I might buy it someday,

I guess you finally found it for a good price, eh. @Payton Cross.

I finally pulled the tricker to buy this great tv-show on dvd

Murder She Wrote - The Complete Series

Congratulations on taking the plunge. I still haven't unsealed mine yet, and I don't imagine I'll have time for it until at least next year.

Hope yours has arrived in nice condition and the packaging (with possible stacking discs) doesn't give you any bother.

Enjoy.

Looks like the American (Region 1) version.
the region 2 release of it uses the exact same packaging as I've one the same. :)

The Region 2 version uses the same artwork (marred by the classification/rating logo), but it seems to have very different and inferior packaging!

Unless it's been repackaged, the R1 version has each season in its own standard sized Amaray case in a proper presentation box with an open back. The R2 version, unfortunately, has the seasons lumped together with horrible multiple stacking of discs across 2 large clamshell cases, kept in a flimsy sealed box that's difficult to open without creasing it. The discs will be a nightmare to keep pristine, and the box next to impossible.

I actually prefer the packaging of the R2 release. I recently finished the entire series and I found it really handy with the way the discs are stacked in the two plastic cases. They're very handy for when you want to go on an all night binge fest which is what I like to do! :)

To be honest there was a Dutch dvd release from "Murder she Wrote" with Dutch subtitles which was very cheap i believe around 55,- euro's, but I read that there were a lot of complaints about the boxset that I didn't want it, then I came across this UK import release and it was a bit more expensive than the other Dutch release but I was able to buy it for 75.00 euro's and it was first originally 110,- euro's, so luckily the price dropped and I thought it was now or never. ;);)

Thanks @Mel O'Drama, i'm glad i bought it, i understand your problem to take the time to open these kind of boxsets or even taking the time to start watching them, but because regular TV doesn't interest me much anymore, now is a good time to watch my series on DVDs again.

I have not received it yet, I just ordered it today, but it should arrive between Tuesday or early next week, the delivery time indication sometimes deviates quite a bit.

Thanks, i watch" Murder She Wrote" now on tv around 17:15 PM, but the episodes are all mixed up, but I prefer to watch them in order, i would say season by season.

No it's a region 2 version from the UK, i checked the EAN code numbers and it said region 2. ;)
To be expected, given your being from The Netherlands.

Region 1 unboxing:
That's the one I ordered, but I received the re-packed version instead (which doesn't include the movies).
Because I bought it on a whim (it was a special offer) it didn't bother me very much. Maybe just a little, I'm not very fussy about boxes and formats :D
It's currently going for $59, it may have been less at that time, but 59 is still a very good deal for so many DVDs.

Is it the one that has 3 discs to a mini-spindle?

It's always frustrating (and often expensive) when a DVD either isn't released in your region or is given a release that isn't as good. I'm glad you've managed to find an imported UK set since that's the one you want.

I watch hardly any TV these days, and don't stream much either so my core series viewing, like you, is mostly DVDs. My problem is I just have so many that I haven't got around to watching yet, and some of them contain an awful lot of episodes. I'm prioritising series I haven't watched, which is why Jessica is way down the list, even though she's sitting on my shelf. Before getting the box-set, I had the first 12 seasons on DVD anyway, and have watched it fairly recently (sometime within the last decade, I think).

Just last night I noticed the Region 1 listing has a banner saying "The Complete Series" while the R2 has the wordier "Complete Series One-Twelve Plus The Four TV Movies.

Frustrating that you didn't get what you ordered, but getting a bargain can take the sting out.

Oh the big boxset of Murder, She Wrote contains a crossover episode of Magnum PI starring Tom Selleck.

There's also an interview with Angela Lansbury about the show featuring Ron Masak.

Enjoy the big boxset. :)
Thanks, ;)

I have Magnum P.I. also on DVD and I had also read that there would be an episode with Jessica Fletcher, but I have only seen the first two seasons, I still have to see the other six seasons. but it's nice that two of these fun series are spin-offs of each other.

Hi buddy, it's not that they're spin-off's it's that they take place in the same universe in much the same way as the various Star Trek series.

Anyway enjoy your big boxset. :)

Yes it is indeed very frustrating that this happen for our Dutch release, but i'm glad that there are alternatives and i can easy live without subtitels because mostly they are not always correct what they saying in the seen. ;)

I know what you mean, i have also so many tv-series that i just don't know where to start, some series i have seen from the beginning to the end but there are so many others left, and yes series that have many episodes is something you really need the time to start watching them, and like you i think Murder She Wrote will end up way down too because there a a couple i want to see first, now last week i started with the 80's cop sieres "Hunter" and i want to see this series from the beginning to the final episode. I almost bought the first dvd releases from "Murder She Wrote" too, but i was to busy with watching Dallas and Dynasty on dvd and forgot all about Jessic Fletcher. ;)

I hope i have seen them all before i retire. :D
