I'm really late to the party here, and I hope you all don't mind my joining in. I love reading the posts here and finally decided to join.

I'm in the midst of my first full-watch of Knots Landing, even though I've been a fan since 1985. Just so you know, Ewing is actually my real last name. I never got into Dallas (or Knots) originally because we would get crank calls asking, "May I please speak to JR?" or "Who shot JR?" so I was just annoyed by it. At the time, the only good thing that came of it was that people stopped mispronouncing our name (no more EEE-wing or Oooo-wing). But then, a friend got me hooked on Knots during the Val's babies storyline (season 6?) and I watched every episode religiously after that, making it almost to the end of the series. It was the series finale, and I was in grad school and had a class that night, so I set the VCR to record the episode, but I didn't count on the hour-long pre-finale recap, so I didn't actually record the show. And I was a poor grad student without cable, so I didn't have any opportunities to watch it elsewhere back then. I was so devastated: was the plane going to explode? They can't kill off Greg or Paige! Will Mack and Karen reconcile? Is Val really back? Why doesn't someone just kill Kate and Vanessa instead? How would they wrap it up? I felt so stupid.

A few years later, when seasons 1 and 2 were released on DVD, I was ecstatic, so I watched them and assumed the rest would follow. We all know how that turned out. I got to see Sid and Diana and Richard and Kenny and Ginger, characters I'd heard about but hadn't seen (except for Richard and Diana's briefs guest roles). Then, a few years ago, my daughter told me about some illicit YouTube channels that had full episodes, so I found those and started watching from season 3 onwards. There were a lot of gaps, but I saw the gist of each season until they all disappeared while I was in the middle of season 13, so I STILL hadn't seen the finale. I couldn't believe I wasted time watching episodes focused on Tidal Energy instead of just jumping to the finale, but it had been so long I couldn't remember what had led to the bomb on the plane. That's three times my ultimate guilty pleasure was denied.

And then, last fall: PLEX! It's a terrible streaming platform, but I don't care. I picked up where I left off and finally made it to the finale (which, by the way, seemed anticlimactic, except for the moment when Abby showed up in the cul-de-sac. Gary's look of goofy bewilderment was perfect.) I couldn't stop there, however. Since it's all there on PLEX, I went back to the beginning so I can experience every single episode. The funny thing is that husband, who just tolerated my obsession at first, is now hooked and wants to watch an episode every night. Right now we're in season 4, Ciji has been murdered, and while I know who killed her, he doesn't, and it's so fun to listen to him theorize about who done it. I can't wait to see his reaction to Cathy when she shows up.

I just wanted to share my joy with like-minded fans. Thanks for letting me join. Also, I need help deciding on an avatar pic. :)

Lovely to see you and welcome. It's never too late to join the party.

It's great to read your history with Knots, and I'm glad you've finally managed to see the finale. What fun to now be sharing your viewing with a first-timer.

Hmmmm. Gary's look of goofy bewilderment, perhaps? :D I'm sure the muse will strike, and look forward to seeing your choice.

Well, this is embarrassing: apparently, I joined this forum about 10 years ago and then forgot I joined. I stopped coming here when I wasn't able to watch Knots on YouTube anymore, and my life got much busier, so it just dropped off my radar.

Then today I was scrolling though some posts and found a comment from another poster that made me stop and think, "That sounds like something I would say." And the name and avatar of that poster are extremely relevant to me. And so I searched for and read all of their posts and realized it WAS me. But I honestly have no recollection of doing this. I'm kinda old--but not old enough to be going senile. Is this reverse deja-vu? Seriously, I'm really freaked out about this.

So now I have two accounts here, but I have no idea how to get into the old one.
