According to ICE's report to Texas Representative Tony Gonzales today, 13, 099 convicted murderers Illegally crossed the U.S. border and are roaming free in the country. Let that staggering number and sanctuary cities refusal to cooperate with ICE to detain them sink in as you vote.

Thank You for that information.
Border security is a major issue.
The negative impact on national security, crime, public safety, public health, public services, local budgets etc is staggering.
The areas where they locate are also negatively impacted because
these locales are then using more and more resources to accommodate the influx of illegals
which in turn depletes resources available to the tax paying American citizens
The result is that taxes must be increased and the services available to the taxpaying citizens are then reduced.

There are people who utilize the legal channels for American citizenship.
The lack of accountability for illegal crossings is not not fair to them.

Border security must be a major priority for the USA

May I ask the obvious question. At least it is to me...if they supposedly crossed illegally and are roaming free, how do they know how many there are? They obviously didn't check in or announce themselves as they allegedly crossed the border so how can an exact figure like 13,099 be accurately attained?
Also, I was of the understanding that Mexico's convicted murderers aren't simply released from prison. I thought they had tough laws like 50 or 60 years for murder.

They were likely detained at the border and then released, thus the numbers

Aside from the obvious political reasons for the report, I don't understand the point of ICE if they can't automatically deport supposedly, known convicted murderers. Like, how is anyone ever deported if a convicted murderer can't be turned around right at the border and sent packing.
It's easy to scapegoat sanctuary cities but obviously the point of initial retention would be a good place to blame for starters.
If I cross a US land border and I have a criminal record of any kind, I would be turned away. So??? Call me confused and somewhat skeptical of the report.

Okay, so after a little digging, it turns out this report was requested by a Republican and released the same day Harris went to the border. Coincidence???? Hmmm...
What the report fails to specify that I can see is during what range in years do the total numbers reflect, what years were they allegedly released, etc. Many of the releases may stem back through several administrations. So, it's a bit disingenuous and possibly risky for Republicans to trounce on this report without all of the details. Alarming numbers nonetheless.

It's pretty simple , ICE protects the U.S. through criminal investigations and enforcement of immigration laws to preserve national security and public safety. And they can't successfully do that when local authorities refuse to cooperate with them.

If it's pretty simple, how did they get released to sanctuary cities, past ICE and what's the time span of those total figures?
I did discover the US can't return many to their country of origin because most refuse to take them back. So I'm unsure how Trump will "send them back" as is his plan and campaign promise.

Of course it was, and the timing was absolutely brilliant. Do you seriously think that any of the Democrats would have ever requested that report? They want to hide the numbers until after the election.

Careful, the Republicans may regret asking for the report when it shows that many were released on their watch too...in fact, it is every political law makers' job on both sides of the aisle right now. So why haven't they done anything like pass the very conservative leaning bi-partisan border security bill? They're the law makers...not Biden Harris after all. So the guilt and responsibility falls on both parties.
Until you all realize that, the duty will continue to be punted down the road like the government funding bills while criminals continue to pour in...no matter who is President.
You're obviously okay with politicizing the border though, given your love of the timing of the report.

I think we all want more secure borders here in the US. It’s long overdue and becoming more and more of a necessity in this world now. I know not every person here illegally necessarily commits crimes, and I know we also have tons of criminals that are homegrown and already living here among us, but I think we also need to take a good hard look at the process. It’s obvious it’s not working the way it is now and something needs to be done about how easy it is to get into the US illegally.

That's very true and it's always going to be a problem with a huge border. Things can definitely be done to fix back logs in claims, more drones, patrol vehicles and border patrol people. That was all on the bill apparently though that was politicized by Trump.
This report is a horrible report for Democrats and Republicans. So using it to score points against Harris is asinine...especially when a bill to address part of the problems right away was quashed. Harris is only a tiebreaker vote that I'm aware of and a bill needs to get passed for Biden to sign. So the blame lies with the Senate and Congress on both sides of the aisle.
Bottom line is, aside from that bill that should have been signed, there's still a huge economic/wealth gap in the nation's people are fleeing. Until we all are willing to share the world's resources with them or start businesses there that pay them fairly, there will always be people wanting what we have. It's only human and dehumanizing them is abhorrent.
Many of the nations they come from are a tropical paradise where Canadians, snow bird Americans and Europeans travel to during winter (they don't want to leave but have to for a better life). We all want those cheap, all-inclusive vacations...but they're only cheap because the farmers providing the food, hotel staff, drivers, etc are all paid next to nothing. Whereas when we travel to Europe, it costs thousands more in comparison because they're paid fair wages.

On the news right now a fact checker said this report does indeed cover decades (not just Biden/Harris) of releases...including under Trump and some are actually in prison not running around loose.
Let's continue to villify immigrants though and fear monger by selecting comparatively rare cases of illegals raping or murdering someone but ignoring mass shootings by American born. Then Republicans telling people they just need to get over it.

Sanctuary Cities are depriving the taxpaying citizens of resources because the influx is so great, that the budgets are insufficient and
taxes will need to be raised and/or funds will need to be burrowed at higher rates

Illegal border crossings have been a larger problem in recent years. that is factual

The so called fact checkers are not as reliable as one might think.
They can interpret data any number of ways, depending on how the question is phrased.
IE there is such a thing as a distinction without a difference
The answer may or may be technically correct, but it may fail upon analysis
in a larger context
In this case, the illegal immigration is causing issues in recent years (due in part to overwhelming influxes in sanctuary cities)
that were not present prior to then

Apparently since Biden's executive order, illegal crossings are down to rates lower than under Trump. The illegal immigrants wouldn't get to sanctuary cities if they were apprehended at the border though.

That report is literally decades of figures though. Fact check it otherwise if not and provide numbers just under Biden vs Trump. Plus, isn't it a very negative report card for the Republican controlled Senate as well and the Johnson speaker dude? They are the ones who need to pass bills for Biden to sign and Harris had no power the last 4 years other than a tie breaker vote. So the issue will never be solved as long as it's partisan and the blame game. The Republicans are already saying if Harris is elected, they'll block her agenda. So you've got an issue that starts in Congress and Senate...both sides are equally responsible.
