How would you have done a Christmas Carol with the three ghosts visiting J.R.? I would have done this instead of spoofing It's a Wonderful Life.

It's A Wonderful Life is basically a modern take on A Christmas Carol, so you're still working with the same base concept. A very good and interesting concept. I see Katzman's totally unrealistic botched execution of the It's A Wonderful Life concept as the problem, not the lack of ghosts. None of what they showed as what would have happened without J.R. was realistic. Sue Ellen would have married Clint and been a stay at home mom. Gary would have been running Southfork with Ray and rasing Lucy with Valene. And Bobby would have been happy with Pam raising their children together and maybe running his own company.

anything would have been an improvement over Conundrum - it might have been interesting to have the ghost of Christmas past show JR some of his misdeeds of the early seasons and how they affected others - but the thread title made me think... they should have had an episode in the early seasons where the Ewings went Christmas caroling in less-fortunate neighborhoods in Dallas in order to spread that Ewing cheer in a charitable manner. JR might have had an angelic tenor and Jock could have had a surprisingly Aaron Neville-like falsetto.
