Rather than hijack @Willie Oleson's thread I thought I'd start a new one regarding @Ked's idea.

I love the character of Amanda, but I do agree she should have been used more to create drama, especially in the wake of Fallon's disappearance.

Amanda arrives in Denver having found out about Alexis being her real mother, rather introverted, artistic and somewhat lonely quite the opposite of her much adored older sister, Blake will immediately accept her since he craves a daughter, but in time he lives Amanda for the beautiful soul she is, and form a unique relationship with her.

Jeff on the other hand, has become a border line alcoholic, and a unfit father goes from resenting Amanda for seemingly replacing Fallon's role in the family even though the two sisters couldn't be less alike to being disturbingly obsessed with her because she reminds him of a younger Fallon from their teen years.

Jeff eventually bonds with Amanda and gets possessive whenever anyone else wants to spend time with her, even toward Alexis, at first only Adam sees that how Jeff is behaving toward Amanda is disturbing and seeks to protect his kid sister, Krystle also notices but she has her own troubles to properly deal with the situation.

Jeff recreates dates and moments from his life with Fallon and projects them onto Amanda, who only wants to have a friend since most of the family seem either indifferent or resentful of her presence, allows him to mould her into Fallon, she even starts to work at La Mirage.

This culminates in Jeff making Amanda wear Fallon's infamous red dress at a society party, which scandalises Denver society, this makes Steven hate her even more and Alexis and Blake are united in seeing that Jeff is seriously ill that he doesn't find anything wrong with Amanda wearing Fallon's dress.

Anything else you could add or more Hitchcockian moments in DYNASTY

I've always thought that Dynasty's motif should have been ripping off the plots of various classic films over the course of a half or quarter a season. It just seems right.
