I still get cravings for sugar as well, but that's lessened for me considerably since I made my dietary changes last year. However, I still get cravings for savory carbs. I'll allow myself to have a cheeseburger or a couple slices of pizza on special occasions. That's when I have my sugary drinks/desserts too. I just don't make it a regular thing like I used to. As for vitamin D-3, I have a prescription that I get filled for free because I'm on Medicaid. But it's only for 1000 IU, and my doctor hasn't increased the dose. I bought my own 2000 IU D-3 supplement, as well as a multivitamin with 1000 IU because I had heard the "upper safe limit" was 4000 IU daily. But the research confirms that the correct dose is indeed 9000 IU like you said, so I started taking 4 of the 2000 IU tablets to get the full, correct dose. Once that runs out, I'll start buying the 10,000 IU tablets. I'm also taking vitamin K and magnesium supplements because I heard that they aid in vitamin D-3 absorption and activation. I was hospitalized in February due to severe dehydration (the Metformin I was on led to "bathroom issues" and a rapid loss of fluid), so I also removed a pharmaceutical from my life. Luckily, my dietary changes have lowered my A1-C.
