Alexis on Trial

One of the few things I like about season five is Alexis' trial. To begin with, it was the first murder trial since season 1 (DYNASTY was not big on them) and in an amazing repeat of the past, Steven was again the most damaging witness against his parent, just as he did against Blake. Krystle was involved because it was her ex, Adam was the lawyer, and I even loved how Blake did not say that Alexis would have killed Mark (unlike her damning testimony three years earlier). I even liked the campy resolution of the wigged McVane. Here is a clip from the trial of Steven testifying. Adam is showing emotion here fighting for his mother, which always feels a little off, like Spock in the trek reboots who is PMSing through every movie. Poor Coleman is trying to show anguish in his conflicted testimony against his beloved mother, but it comes across like congestive heart failure. Still, I understand why the show started with strong ratings at the time--and there was still the promise of Dominique and Brady around, plus Amanda popping up.

I want Krystle on trial simultaneously for the murder of dismembered Tracy Kendall, with Alexis testifying that she witnessed through the doorway from the hall at Denver-Carrington Krystle slapping Tracy, which Krystle cannot deny. Then, another old woman -- ideally not Natalie Core -- confesses she witnessed a well-dressed woman with a fluffy blonde pageboy dumping a heavy garment bag in the dumpster behind her apartment ..… which also turns out to be Senator McVane in drag.
