Alexis joined the forums back in 2007

Anyone who is anyone will know Alexis, he spreads himself across most of the forums whether he’s talking about DYNASTY (and all the other soaps/dramas), sharing his love for music or fighting off the bigots in the politics forum.

Alexis is another member who took part in our first BACHELOR game, under the guise of @Dick LeGrand

1604225024304.png

Living up to his name with comments such as;

“Oh you can never get enough sausage in you!”

“The only Dick around here... The cock of the walk, so to speak.”

“What's this I see before me? Another Dick? I fear this thread just isn't big enough for the two of us! Nor poor Willie for that matter.”

“Try as he may, he cannot make a Dick this big feel small.”

Alexis grabbed Willie’s heart in the game, making it to the final, however coming runner up as Dick LeGrand, losing out to our winner Stan

But what else do we know about Alexis, and what don’t we know?

Please take this week to ask as many, or little questions you have for Alexis including any follow-up questions that might arise during the week.

Enjoy your week in the spotlight.

I will start with one question that intrigues me with everyone.
Alexis, if you were to take part in Mastermind (a quiz show) what would be your specialist subject?

Hi @Alexis, I hope you enjoy your week in the limelight. I have a few questions for you, if I may:
  1. Why did you chose "Alexis" as your forum name and did you previously use any other names?
  2. What is your favourite thread on this site, either to post on or to read the comments of other forum members?
  3. How did you discover this site for the first time?

Hi @Alexis - hope you have a fab week. A few questions for you.

1. Who was your childhood hero?
2. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?
3. If you won the lottery jackpot what is the first thing you would buy?
1. I would say Madonna and Kylie were my childhood heroes. I was obsessed with Madonna as a child, and with Kylie too. I can remember Kylie being a part of my life from I was around 3 or 4. I was born in 1983 and Kylie's music career started in 1988 I think, or possibly 1987. I was bought my first Kylie album on cassette when I was about 4 and was lucky enough to have them bought for me for birthdays and Christmas until I could buy things myself. They have been the soundtrack to my life ever since. I still love and listen to a lot of Madonna now, but I am not so fond of her musical direction of the last decade or so. Still she's enjoying herself and doing what she wants, and I have that massive back catalogue of both artists forever. I haven't ever disliked any period of Kylie's music career. Both artists made me very happy growing up and to this day Kylie's first Greatest Hits and Madonna's Immaculate Collection are my go to music to fight depression and lift my mood.

2. If I could live anywhere in the world it would be somewhere in southern Spain. I would have been there twice this year if not for Covid. In fact I would just be home from my second trip.

3. If I won the lottery I would first of all buy an amazing house. It doesn't have to be the Carrington mansion, just big enough for me and family. Maybe with some outbuildings. And it would have to be detached and private. I don't like to be bothered. lol

1. I am a care worker for people with Dementia.

2. I used to love sitcoms but not so much anymore. Will and Grace would be a favourite. I used to love Friends in the 1990s but it's been shown so much since that I cant watch it anymore. I also used to love Roseanne, Cheers, The Golden Girls, Cybil, and The Nanny.

3. My favourite British soap for years and years was Eastenders. I really loved it, but then a lot of the core cast left and it sort of became silly in like a US daytime soap way which just isn't Eastenders. They made it much more tweeny at a point too and I missed the older cast/stories. I haven't watched properly or regularly in about 4 or 5 years. I also loved Emmerdale, and found it to be the most like a US soap, but it worked there as Emmerdale was never as gritty as Eastenders used to me. And I loved Brookside when it was on. I find the Corrie re-runs from the 1980s and 90s fascinating and engrossing when I see them, but it's never been my favourite post 90s.

4. As far as overseas soaps, I loved all of the 80s prime time soaps, all of them! And I loved the daytime soaps too, like Sunset Beach and The Bold and The Beautiful. I am just a big soap whore really. If it's a continuing story with a bitch and some good looking people and a nice house I am pretty sold.

5. I used to be on a few music fan sites. Other than here, the only forum I am on now is PopJustice.

1. I choose Alexis as my forum name because I originally joined here to keep up with the DYNASTY DVD releases as I couldn't find the info anywhere else. Actually when I signed up my original name was alexis, as Alexis was taken. I could only change it after the forum crash and we had to re-join.

2. I haven't been able to post or read on here even, as much as I once did. I work longer days now and am often tired when I get home. I used to have a lot of time to read more on here and participate on here more too. I love threads discussing the '80s soaps. I love some of the music threads. Particularly the Steps thread with @Mel O'Drama and @Jason73 and a few other members. It originally started on the original forum and had to be continued on the new one. It was a mammoth thread, and a huge wish list and I am sure Steps have read it and fulfilled a lot of those wishes. I also love threads discussing old movies and actors and actresses from the golden age.
Dissecting Dynasty is my favourite pass time though. You can normally find me on something Dynasty related.

3. I discovered the site the first time when I was searching for Dynasty and Dallas DVDs and DVD release dates.

Hello @Alexis!

With 2020 being such a dreary year for many in this world is there anything positive that has happened to you for this year?
It's been an awful year for sure. I have to say that going back to work after months of shielding was a positive thing for me. My mental health was suffering when I was off work for months and unable to leave the house. Work is hard and crazy at the moment but I am a social person and right now my life is pretty much work and then home so it's a social outlet for me. Other than that, I would say music from my favourite artists. The new Kylie music is the prescription I needed, as well of course as Steps. These two albums are going to make this year not be a complete shitfest.

Thanks for that Intro @Ome!

I forgot about your question... Oops. I think if I was on Mastermind my specialist subject would probably be DYNASTY or Joan Collins. I know a lot of useless crap about both.

My favourite subject at school was English, followed by Art. My least favourite was Maths. I have never needed any of the mathematics I was taught at school besides basic adding and subtracting. It's 2020... Maths is for machines.
Alexis doesn't do sports. It's not a thing for me, there are other things I would rather do than play sports. I will watch Aussie rules on TV, but that's not for the love of the game.
Top 5 cities... Hmmm, Dublin, New York, Krakow, Prague, London, I think, in that order... But I will probably think of somewhere else later?
I see a lot of concerts or did before Covid! I cant really pick a favourite. Seeing Celine Dion in 2017 in London was a dream come true and amazing, but then so was Cher, Gaga, Fleetwood Mac, there are so many! And Kylie has been AMAZING every time I have seen her. Steps were so good in 2017 I went both nights in Belfast. I cant really think of a bad concert experience. Seeing Kylie's Showgirl tour in Dublin years ago was probably the most joy I have ever experienced in my entire life.
I don't think I have been to a bad show, I wouldn't see someone unless I was a real fan.
Hmmm, as far as who would I like to see that I haven't already, I would say Elkie Brooks, I have loved her for years and she's been on tour a good bit over the years for different reasons it's never seemed to work out. I would like to see Madonna too, but not in an arena where she's doing big dance numbers and the type of music she does now. Now I would like to see her just sing and reimagine her hits, but that doesn't seem to be what she's about.
My top 5 Tenko characters....I would say, Marion, Rose, Blanche, Beatrice, and Jocelyn? But that's only off the top of my head... Maybe I have forgotten someone I loved.

Also sorry to everyone for the quick and erratic way I am answering the questions, I am back at work the next two days and wont have much time then.

I am a care worker for people with Dementia.
Care workers are probably one of the most poorly paid groups of workers considering the contribution they make to society.

then so was Cher, Gaga,
Was that Lady Gaga's Monster Ball Tour 2009 - 2011 or her Born This Way Ball tour in 2012 - 2013. I saw the former which was incredible and wanted to see the latter but my personal circumstances changed and I was unable to go. What did you think of the concert?

Yea, a raise would be nice. I was about to start changing over to support work and then Covid happened, and then shielding happened and everything turned to shit.

I saw the Monsters Ball tour and it was incredible yes! Such a great show, I played The Fame/Monster to death too. Love every single song on that album.

Welcome to "This Is Your Life"... Ooops, wrong title! Welcome to this Candlelight thingie! We´re all gonna have fun!

Voilà some questions:

1- Have you ever entangled in a catfight (sort of)? And if so, who won?

2- What do you think that we Spanish men have that others from other nationalities don´t?

3- What would you do if you met Joan Collins in the airport? Would you go all stalker-ish or just take some pics of her in the WC with your cell phone?

4- Who is your favorite non-Soap actress? Why? Is she a person or a ladypig?

5- Have you ever heard a Spanish person say "My country is good for holidays but not for living"?

6- What real-life celebrity would you like to see in the new "Spitting Image" series?

Miss Piggy would like to ask:

What perfume would you recommend to a young beautiful, sexy, smart star as moi (not that I need it!)?

What is your favorite flavor of doughnuts?

Hi @Alexis

I hope you'll enjoy your week in the spotlight. :)

I have a couple of questions:

1) What are your interests?
2) How many times have you watched Kylie in concert and which one was the best one?
3) How is your cousin doing now?

Finally I can very much recommend you to watch Madonna in concert some day if you get the opportunity to. I saw her on her Rebel Heart tour and it was in a big arena but she did mix in a few of her old hit songs so it wasn't just her new album. If memory serves me she sang "Like a Prayer", "Like A Virgin", "True Blue", "Vogue" and "Isla Bonita". I must say that I also love Madonna's Immaculate Album as well as Kylie's Greatest Hits one. :ribbon:
